Very few marble pieces from the ancient temple are remaining. The gardener explained to us that the temple was flooded every approximately 100 years(there is a small river on the side), which is why there were many attempts to rebuild. Lastly it was converted into a Christian church, and when that flooded, the locals transported the building materials from the ancient temples to the church of St George which they built in a different location.
