The area of Kalpaki lies 35 km northwest of Ioannina, to the west of Mount Mitsikeli and at an altitude of 430m. This place is known for the battles that took place in the region during the first phase of the Greek-Italian war of 1940-1941. In these battles, the few Greek Forces achieved, with their heroic resistance, to prevent the enemy from penetrating the area of Epirus . At the entrance of the village of Kalpaki lies the war museum. It was erected in 1975 and includes exhibits - heirlooms of the Battle of Kalpaki, which took place during the invasion of the Italians in Greece (28 October 1940).
