I managed to find some very cool items at reasonable prices! I went on a Sunday around 10.30am. That was a good time to go as there were many vendors still open. I was surprised at how large the area is and how many stalls there were. They had people selling food, clothing, jewellery, antiques, electronics, toys, furniture- basically anything you can think of! The only downside I found is that I think some of the vendors will try to sell stuff to you for “tourist prices” if you’re a foreigner which is quite disappointing but I simply didn’t purchase from those ones. I wish I had gotten the name of the ones that I did buy from though, I found a lovely older man selling gorgeous wood carvings for 1000Forint, there was another vendor selling jewellery at 500Ft a piece (compared to some others who were trying to charge 2500ft/piece for similar things), and I haggled this beautiful vase down to 3000Ft. I think it is best to go before 12pm as around past 11 a lot of vendors began packing their stuff (especially on hotter days I think it is because it starts to get extremely hot by midday so they don’t want to be outside for too long). Great place to visit if you’re going to Budapest

Buda Flea Market is open on weekends, it is open every Saturday and Sunday between 7:00 a.m. and 14:00 p.m. You will find it packed with the vendors, sellers and treasure hunters! It is at the Buda side of Budapest, and very close to Kelenföld train station, you can take busses like 139 or 140 from Deli train station bus stop and change to 40, 40B, 88, etc. busses at Gazdagreti ut bus station. You need to go there very early to find good stuff from wide range of Herendi, Zsolnay, Hollohaz, famous Hungarian luxury hand-painted and gilded porcelains. Admission is free, parking is very hectic, better to go there using public transportation. There are so many local sellers and most of them only speak Hungarian. Do not forget to bargain but to do that you need to speak Hungarian, otherwise obviously you may get high price offers from these nice locals ! You can fins all sort of things, like photograph machines, old mobile phones, silver cutlery, brass kitchen utensils, table clothes, second hand clothes, furniture, vases, crystals glasses for wines, etc. as well as fruits, vegetables. You will never know what you will take home after a shopping day in this flea market.

Had a really fun time out here this Saturday October 2018. This is not a high end antique kind of place but a for real flea market where you get to rummage through boxes of stuff and where some of the vendors set their merchandise up on the ground. It didn't appear that there were a lot of tourists at this market, which is great, the vendors are there to sell and are willing to deal and bargain on things. I like it so much that I bought 3 pieces of pottery, all for great prices. Took the 140 bus out there and caught the 140A bus back home. Planning on going again next week!!

Update March 2024, still always a fun time at this flea market and I always find something interesting to buy. The best day to go is Sunday, but keep in mind if its raining there are not going to be very many vendors, so almost...
