Kékes — Local services in Gyöngyösi járás

Hungary’s highest point, Kékes, stands 3,326 feet (1,014m) tall. As it’s only 62 miles (100km) outside Budapest, the mountain can be conquered on a day trip, and you’ll be back in the capital for a hearty goulash dinner. Committed walkers can walk 11 miles (17.7km) to the top from the nearby town of Gyöngyös – or cheat and slash the distance to just a few footsteps by driving to the very top. However, when you get to the top of Kékes, you can add another 577 feet (176m) to your altitude by riding the lift to the top of the Soviet-era TV tower. The tower was a bit disappointment. Can go up and come down via elevator or stairs. The view simply was not much for me. Luckily it was not that expensive. Also driving uphill we were stopped by a man who did not speak much English. We understood we had to buy a parking ticket. So we did. However we did not want to park into any of the parking slots because they were all in the sun and in 30C wether that just is not an option for us. instead we drove all the way up and just left our car by the fence. Kezdjük az elején. A tett színhelye elé érve, egy parkoló őr az út közepén állva máris a jegytombjebol 500 ft- os egész napos jegyet tép ki a számunkra, onnan még a parkolót sem látni. Két parkolot ajánl fel, mondtuk, h. a közelebbit szeretnénk a Tv-torony, egyben kilátóhoz. Felmentunk, egy hepehupas, gödrös, murvaval leszort parkolonak kinevezett terület fogadott minket. Az őr szerint onnan 100-meter a Torony és a nemzeti színűre festett szikla kő. Egy darabig műút, majd 100 - méter meredek útnak nem nevezhető sziklás ösvény fel a köhöz, papucs, szandál nem ajánlatos hozzá. Következő 100- méter a torony, az már kiepitett, jó színvonalú látogató kis központtal rendelkezik, női, férfi mellék helyiségekkel. Udvarias útbaigazítást lift fel, második lift szinten van a zárt torony presszó, harmadikon a nyitott kör terasz. Olyan szél fújt, h. a korlátokba kellett kapaszkodni. Tablettal fényképeztem majdnem kicsavarta a kezemből. Aki oda felmegy érdemes legalább egy szeldzsekit felhuznia, rajtam volt, de egy fiatal pár rövidnadrág, pólóban nem sokáig bírta, pedig a körpanorama csodálatos. Ami jó segítség, h. körben a mellveden kis táblákon ki van írva, h. éppen arra felé milyen helyiséget láttunk. Amúgy szuper csak többet érdemelne a sok látogató parkolás és a csúcsra vezető út...
