Today I visited the place to see the giant old banyan tree .It is approximately 2 km from Bodhgaya police station. After crossing Niranjana bride you have to follow left side road(not ride side road) left side road goes towards Saraswati tirth.Road is well maintained nowdays.Traffic on road is very less. After travelling approximately 2 km you will reach to giant banyan tree. It is really giant. Its arial roots have gone to below ground.Statue of Lord Buddha and a cemented bown having sign of Bhagwan Vishnu foot are placed there for worship. But still some thing is lacking. It should be protected and ,beautified . Its publicity is required so that people can see this great giant Banyan.

It was quite a decent area. But now it doesn't feel the same. Human interference have increased in this area. And the beauty of this place has lost. Recently the epitome of Lord Buddha have been established here. The tree is still the same but the vibe is not. Last time when I visited this place there wala a small fair was going on here. Went for some peace but ended up moving towards dungeshwari's side villages. I don't know what the Buddhist people trying to do but expecting for the long life of this area along with the peace one wants to find into the lap of nature.

This sacred tree is one of the living beings that gives greater presence of itself compared to other murtis placed in temples. Stopping at the base of its roots, is more satisfying than stopping in front of some anthropomorphic idol, installed and unfortunately not looked after properly.
