Barabar pahar is located in Makdumpur in Jehanabad District. It is located in 30 km approx from Gaya lies in Gaya to patna route. If you want want to go by train then you take passengers train by Patna or Gaya and leave the train @_Banabar_Koteshbar-Dham Holt From here you take auto or book auto for Barbar pahr. #must carry water bottle and plan to go in morning. There are many ways to reach at top of mountain one is *Patal_Ganga* in this way proper ladder is available and in the way at starting point you also visit caves present there, and another way is from back of mountain #Hathiyabore from this side you reach the mountain easily a suitable path is on rocks are available but in this way no *caves* are available. At top of mountain you found temple of *Lord_Shiva* and in the way you found another temple. A best place to visit with family and friends.

The Barabar Hill Caves (Hindi बराबर, Barābar) are the oldest surviving rock-cut caves in India, dating from the Maurya Empire (322–185 BCE), some with Ashokan inscriptions, located in the Makhdumpur region of Jehanabad district, Bihar, India, 24 km (15 mi) north of Gaya. Barabar Hill contains four caves: Karan Chaupar, Lomas Rishi, Sudama and Visvakarma.Sudama and Lomas Rishi are the earliest examples of rock-cut architecture in India, with architectural detailing made in the Mauryan period. Similar examples include the larger Buddhist Chaitya, found in Maharashtra, such as in Ajanta and Karla Caves. The Barabar caves greatly influenced the tradition of rock-cut architecture in the Indian subcontinent
