The Tomb of Shah Quli Khan is a historic monument located in Mehrauli, Delhi, India. It was built in the 16th century and is considered to be an excellent example of Mughal-era architecture. Shah Quli Khan was a nobleman who served as the governor of Bengal during the reign of Emperor Akbar. He was also the son-in-law of the renowned Mughal general and statesman, Bairam Khan. The tomb was built in his memory after his death in 1597. The tomb is made of red sandstone and features intricate carvings and detailed designs. The main structure is square-shaped with a large dome at the top. The interior of the tomb is also adorned with beautiful artwork and calligraphy. Over the centuries, the Tomb of Shah Quli Khan fell into disrepair and was eventually abandoned. In the 20th century, the Archaeological Survey of India took over the site and began restoring it. Today, the tomb is open to the public and is a popular tourist attraction in Delhi. The Tomb of Shah Quli Khan is an important cultural landmark in Delhi and a testament to the rich history and architecture of the Mughal era.

This beautiful tomb was built by Shah Quil Khan himself in 1574-75 AD. Shah Quil Khan was the Governor of Narnaul during the reign of Mughal emperor Akbar (1556-1605 AD). He built this tomb in memory of his father but after his death, his mortal remains were also buried here. Situated on a high octagonal platform approachable from south, the tomb is built in grey stone mixed with red sandstone presenting a remarkable appearance. Both the interior and exterior of the tomb are octagonal in shape having a narrow passage supported on projecting running all along the base of the arched openings and recesses. The interior of the tomb is sub-divided into two storeys.

Shah Quli Khan's Tomb is located in Narnaul, which is the resting place of Shah Quli Khan, who was the governor of Narnaul during Akbar's reign. One of the few examples of Mughal architecture in Narnaul this monument of national importance was commissioned by Shah Quli Khan during his lifetime. It is situated between fields, and the way towards the tomb is difficult. That is the reason I think it does not get many visitors.

Shah-Quil Khan was the Mughal Governor of┬аPunjab from 1570- 94 & was close to Akbar. He erected historical buildings like Jal Mahal inside a beautiful garden named Aram-i-Kausar which has a three storied Tripolia Gateway.

This octagonal tomb of grey marble & red sandstone, topped by a white dome, was built by Shah Quil Khan in 1574-75, in memory of his father. Interestingly it was built some 25 years before his death. Fourteen years later, he added the three storied gateway, known as Tripolia Gate. After his death in 1601, his mortal remains were...
