Best Trek Of My Life!!!!!!!
Known by very few people JOT Pass Trek is not famous amongst travellers people prefer going to Kheer Ganga or Triund trek.
This trek starts from Dainkund Base point its a 9 km trek one thing carry enough water and energy bars with you unlike other famous treks you will not find anything on the way.
Now word Dainkund literally means witch Pond legend says witches use to live near a pond on dainkund peak villagers built a kali mata temple on the top and legend says mata saved them from the witches after listening to this story we were more thrilled.
First 1.5 km of trek were really difficult due to stairs, climbing stair was really tough. Trail passes through Lush Green Grass Meadows, thick forest and rocky trail. Finally we reached Phulani Mata Temple i saw people visiting this temple but once you cross this temple real and scary trek starts we were in group of 5 apart from us there was no one and at some place we read beware of snow leapords and black bear.
I cannot explain that immense peace and soothing environment, i could feel the fresh air inside my lungs now suddenly whole place was covered by clouds and we finally reached that Dainkund pond.
It was so scary as it could sense the fear inside everyone of us something inside me was stopping me to go further and suddenly 2 of our friends twisted their ankle one by one and they decided to stop their only and go backward towards temple as it was scary to stop near pond.
Now we 3 continued our journey after several km of tough trek through meadows and rocky trail we reached near JOT Pass views were unexplainable.
Abode of lord shiva kailash mansarovar is also visible from JOT pass its advisable not to stop for too long due to thin air and extremely...
Read moreAmazing pace. Since we left for our trip of Himachal Pradesh I had decided to go to Dalhousie Via Jot from Dharamshala and righteously We had an experience of the life time. Our cab was in the safe hands of Mr. Sumitji who managed the half paved road with steep climb and hair pin curves with absolute mastery. The road to Jot Pass takes you through many interesting points such as 'Pagal Pahad' (mad mountain) which keeps on bringing down rubble stone quite often as it is made of slate stone unlike others. The villages on way are very small but seems to be located in heaven. Lucky people. The view at the top of the Jot summit is spectacular and as HP is rightly described as 'Dev Bhumi' (land of God) you feel near to God. The air at the top is so clear and the lack of pollution makes it super transparent. The colour of sky itself shows that there is 0 pollution. Had a fantastic plate of Maggi and a cup of Hot tea at the local Hotel. I strongly recommend that while travelling from Dharamshala to Dalhousie one must take route via Jot. It is...
Read moreJot Pass stands at a height of 2880 meters above the sea level. One wise man once said that without crossing over the Jot Pass you never get to know what reaching Chamba means. Jot Pass overlooks the Chuwadi Valley and it is 23 kilometers away from the top of the Pass. Jot is a hidden treasure in Himachal Pradesh. If you want some place away from hassle of Shimla and Manali, Jot is the place to be.
Jot is one of the highest altitude tourist destinations in Chamba and is located on the Pathankot-Nurpur-Chowari-Chamba stretch. During the winter months, it remains covered in thick snow and is closed for vehicles. The route re-opens in the summers but being a less commercialized place, it does not get crowded with tourists. It a primeval stretch, perfect for those who love exploring the unexplored.
Jot is well-known for...
