The hillock is located just 4.2 kms from Ghatshila that takes just 7 minutes to drive from the city. The Phuldungri hills provide a breathtaking view of the city of Ghatshila below.
These hills provide one of the most adventurous trekking trails in India that is not known much too many people. Many trekkers vouch that walking through the dense forest of Phuldungri is an out-of-the-world-experience, where the thick foliage and trees make even sunlight difficult to penetrate. If one is lucky one may come across wild boars, deer, scorpions and even a stray elephant.
However, it is best if one is accompanied by a local guide who can guide and protect us on top of the hills. On top are the breathtaking Dharagiri falls that make the arduous trek worth every pain. If one is lucky one can catch a glimpse of an elephant or a herd passing by over the Dharagiri falls.
The Phuldungri hillock is located to one side of the National High Way 33 about 2 km from the railway station. There is spiral pathway that leads us to the top. One can drive or tread to the top through this path.
