I'm giving this place one star because the falls is restricted, and it's nearly impossible for anyone to visit. Many locals have never seen it, and even most forest and security guards haven't been there. During my two-day trip, I met only one security guard who had visited the falls four years ago. He mentioned that the falls don't look like the images you find on the internet it's much more beautiful.

Yes, it is the tallest waterfall in India, but the Karnataka government has decided not to make it a tourist spot. According to the guard who visited four years ago, reaching the falls requires a tough trek of 3 to 6 km through dense forest. There are articles suggesting you can get passes from Hosangadi, but based on my conversations with locals and security, that doesn't seem possible. This level of security might be due to reported Naxalite activity in the area, according to the security guard.

Most of the pictures labeled as Kunchikal Falls online are actually of Jog Falls. If you still want to visit and have strong connections, you might be able to gain access.
