At a distance of 45 km from Sirsi, 102 km from Jog Waterfalls, 130 km from Gokarna, Shivaganga is a beautiful waterfall situated in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It is one of the most famous waterfalls in the Western Ghats, and among the best places to visit during your Sirsi Trip. Shivaganga Waterfall is formed over the small Sonda River, also known as Shivaganga River. The small river falls from a height of about 74 m into a deep valley covered with dense flora and presents a charming view. One can also enjoy swimming at the falls. There is a small island near the falls locally called Ganesh pal. This name is derived from Lord Ganesh due to the presence of a small mural of Lord Ganesh inside a small temple present here. From Sirsi, one can take a cab/bus to Kodnagadde, which is about 5 km from Shivaganga falls. Motorable road is available for further 4 km which can be reached by own/private vehicles. From here one has to walk 1 km amidst the thick forest to reach the falls. The trekking path is steep and it turns out to be a bit difficult in some stretch. The Forest department has built several viewpoints that offer a beautiful view of the waterfall & valley from a distance. The ideal time to visit the waterfall is post-monsoon (November - March). In the rainy season, the water level is very high and swimming is extremely dangerous...

Nice beautiful falls with greenery. Visit during October to December. Avoid rainy days, since it will be slippery and water will be in red colour to view. Moderate trekking required to reach the bottom of the falls. Stone pathway is there beside the small stream and no proper steps are available, so only the fit can go to the bottom via 2 km trek. People who like adventures may like this spot. Enjoy the nature and greenery at the bottom, it's slippery on rocks so please take care. Dont try to go near the 3 bottom pond of falls, since it's very deep and may swimmers have died in those spots. There is Shiva linga and other carvings on the rocks, this was a place of worship before. There are no facilities like rest room, hotels and shop near by, hence take all the required eateries and water. Road near the falls around 3kms are...
