Ranipuram is a hillstation in Kasargod district of Kerala. The quaint little village of Ranipuram provides the finest form of the eco tourism and provides a virtual treat for the trekkers and the bird. Its famous for its trekking trail. Situated at the height of about 750 meters above sea level, this destination has thick forest vegetation and lush green grasslands. You have to truck around 4 KM's to reach the peak from the base. The entire trek route of Ranipuram is very scenic and a delight for nature photographers. Exploring the land on foot while being surrounded by flora is surely a serene experience. You will encounter a small stream en route, which seems like it has been pulled out straight from a painting. The trek lasts for about two and a half kilometers, and the summit has a cave, and reaching it is quite an adventurous experience. Ranipuram has a wide assortment of flourishing flora and fauna. Ranging from lush green vegetation to multiple varieties of wildlife, this place is the perfect destination to discover the biodiversity of the region. Ranipuram (Malayalam: റാണിപുരം) is a beautiful hill station situated in Vellarikundu taluk in Kasargod District, Kerala, India. It is known as "Ooty of Kerala". It is around 60km from Kasargod and 42km from Kanhangad. It is a famous trekking spot for tourist. Ranipuram hills stand at a height of 750 meters above sea level adjacent to Kottencheri-Talakaveri mountain range. It is a protected area on the Western Ghats of Kasargod. Till the 1970s, Ranipuram was known as Madathumala.

Ranipuram hills are covered with grasslands, sholas and lush evergreen monsoon forest vegetation. It is close to the Bhagamandala forest range and Kodagu forest in Karnataka. It is one of beautiful trekking places in Kerala. Misty hills around the Ranipuram peak gives pleasant, memorable and exciting experiences. Talakaveri, Madikeri and Virajpet is also nearby.
