पुणे जिल्ह्यातील पुरंदर तालुक्यातील डोंगरी किल्ला. हा किल्ला आंबळे गावाजवळ भुलेश्वरच्या डोंगर रांगेवर, समुद्रसपाटीपासून ८६४ मी. (पायथ्यापासून १०० मी.) उंचीवर वसलेला आहे. मराठी साम्राज्यातील रणधुरंधर सरदार खंडेराव दरेकरांमुळे आंबळे या गावाची इतिहासात नोंद आहे. गावातच दरेकारांचा मोठा वाडा आहे. गावाच्या पाठीमागे म्हणजेच उत्तरेला ५ किमी. अंतरावर ढवळगड आहे. किल्ल्यावर ढवळेश्वराचे मंदिर असून ते आंबळे गावापासून १३० मी. उंच डोंगरावर आहे. जिल्ह्याचे ठिकाण पुणे येथून ढवळगडाला जाण्यासाठी पुणे-सासवड–वनपुरी–सिंगापूर–पारगाव चौफुला–वाघापूर–आंबळे असा रस्ता आहे. सासवडपासून हे अंतर साधारणपणे १८ ते २० किमी. आहे. गावातून एक कच्चा रस्ता ढवळगडाच्या जवळपास अर्ध्या वाटेपर्यंत गेला आहे. गडाचा दुसरा मार्ग उरुळी कांचन गावातून असून जवळच असणारे डाळिंब हे गाव गडाच्या उत्तरेकडील पायथ्याला आहे. डाळिंब गावापासून गड माथा किंवा ढवळेश्वर मंदिर २५५ मी. उंचीवर आहे. डाळिंब गावापासून रेल्वेमार्ग पार करून १४० मी. चढून आल्यावर मेटाचे अवशेष दिसून येतात. या मेटावर खडकात खोदलेले आणि नंतर बांधलेले पाण्याचे टाके आहे. या टाक्याचा आकार साधारणतः १५ फूट x ८ फूट इतका आहे. मेटावरील मंदिरासमोर हे पाण्याचे टाके असून त्याचीही जुजबी दुरुस्ती झाली आहे. टाक्याशेजारीच झाडीमध्ये पत्र्याच्या छपराखाली पगडी घातलेली गणपतीची मूर्ती असून ती पेशवे काळातील असावी. कारण अशाच स्वरूपाची गणेश मूर्ती अहमदनगर येथील विशाल गणपती मंदिरात आहे. ढवळगडच्या माचीवरील या गणेश मंदिरासमोर एक शिवलिंग ठेवलेले दिसते.

तट आणि बुरूज, ढवळगड. किल्ल्यावर जाण्याच्या दोन मार्गांपैकी आंबळे गावाकडून येणाऱ्या मार्गावर राबता जास्त असतो. या वाटेवर माथ्याच्या खाली गडाचे दुसरे मेट आहे. या मेटावर बांधलेला चुन्याचा घाणा आजही अस्तित्वात आहे. घाण्याशेजारी जुन्या बांधकामाचे अवशेष दिसतात. घाण्यापासून पुढे किल्ल्याच्या मुख्य चढावर हनुमानाचे शिल्प कोरलेला दगड आहे. एकाच दगडात पाठीला पाठ लावून हनुमानाची दोन शिल्पे कोरलेली आहेत. गडाच्या दरवाजाजवळ गणपतीचे शिल्प एका घुमटीमध्ये ठेवलेले आहे. किल्ल्याचा दरवाजा अर्धा पडलेला असून त्या शेजारील अर्ध्या भागातील तटबंदीची भिंत आणि बुरूज उभे आहेत. दरवाजाची उंची ३.७ मी. असून अस्तित्वात नसलेल्या अर्ध्या कमानीचे दगड तेथेच खाली पडलेले आहेत. दरवाजातून आत उजवीकडे देवडी (पहारेकऱ्यांची खोली) आहे. मात्र सध्या या मूळ जागेत बदल करून ती निवासासाठी वापरल्याचे दिसते. देवडीच्या आतील बांधकाम पेशवेकालीन वाटते. कारण पेशवेकालीन विटांचा सररास वापर या बांधकामात...
