Very calm and serene place gives glimpse of the simple life led by the great poet reflecting the thought of "Saada jeevan, uchch vichar". This is the birth place of great Marathi poet, Kavi Keshavsoot. The house is a simple Konkani style. The overall feel is nostalgic and reminds us of childhood spent in small town. In front of the smarak are two prakash stambhs. Inside decor was very simplistic and felt cool without even fans. Parking for 4-5 cars depending on how nice people park. Entry fees, Rs 10 per person. The staff issuing tickets was very polite and offered suggestions for nearby places of interest. Behind the house, there is nicely done open hall type setting with major KAVYA engraved in gold colour letters on black stone. There was a modern depiction of the poem tutahi in spotless steel installation. Well maintained library behind the hall, reminding of chilhood when we used to go there with an image of librarian with right hand index finger perpetually fixed on lips. In the times of no Google, that was the source of research! There was a large covered auditorium besides the library. Really nostalgic feeling going there and spending 30-60 minutes in calm serene, rustic place.

Kavi Keshavsoot Smarak is a beautiful memorial honoring the renowned Marathi poet Krishnaji Keshav Damle, known as Keshavsoot. This spacious and well-preserved house is where he was born. Inside, you can find various poems from this great poet, thoughtfully engraved on granite. There’s also a lovely library where you can relax and immerse yourself in a range of Marathi books and literature. The surroundings are delightful, featuring the poet's birthplace, which is vibrantly painted in a warm red hue and meticulously maintained. A small pond adorned with beautiful lotuses adds to the charm of the premises. In one hall, you'll discover a collection of poems and pencil sketches by modern Marathi poets like Vinda Karandikar, Vasant Bapat, Ba Si Mardhekar, and others. Located in a quaint lane in Malgund, the memorial is just a five-minute drive from Ganapatipule. I highly recommend visiting this tranquil spot to appreciate the beauty of the area and the richness of Marathi poetry. Regards, AshMod's Kitchen
