Hostile and pathetic experience!
Do Not Stay-
Stay only-
Read the detailed post to know about our horrific experience (2 couples from Bengaluru) We planned for 15 days Meghalaya trip in bikes. I am an avid user of BATI group in FB and thatās how I got contact of Mr.Deepak, whose family runs/owns the home stay. I had booked 2 rooms (1500/- each) and he had shared a pic of the room in their home (not the ones in the new building) and said other room would be similar to the pic shared and paid 500/- advance, probably one month prior. We reached Emangre, this home stay in the evening and met Deepakās sister aka āDidiā. Deepak was attending NERM and not reachable. Our 1st encounter with her ended bad as they had booked only 1 room in the ledger(miscommunication between Deepak and her). She showed us a room in the new building and said thatās our room. Which we didnāt like as it had 4-5 rooms very adjacent to each other with only 2 common bathrooms. There were already 2-3 groups who were all in the party mode and it would have disturbed our sleep (as we had a long ride in bikes from Guwahati). So I asked her to show the room which was shared in WhatsApp (the one in their home) and we stuck to that room(with 2 beds can accommodate 4 people) even though we wanted 2 rooms. For this Didi was unhappy as she had asked the other group to stay in tent for giving us another room (all this happened when we were still seeing the room in the home and deciding ) When we decided to go with one room in the house, she claimed that she lost business and itās a loss for her as the other group opted tent (which is also probably theirās, not sure!) since then, she was hostile and didnāt even talk to us properly, didnāt even smile and show minimal hospitality. We ignored, stayed night and next day finished our Wari Chora visit and had lunch, dinner and were in the room till night. Since we had planned to leave early next morning, we had asked the bill to pay that night itself. The bill was provided with food amount of 2100/- which didnāt have proper breakup. (They had told veg meal is 200/-, non-veg meal around 250/-, but she didnāt give us non-veg as we didnāt deserve due to her loss). We had some parottas, Maggie, omelettes etc and not all just full meals, which was why we were not clear on the bill charged) When one among us approached her for asking individual cost for parotta, Maggie, omelette etc, she got furious and turned hyper. She snatched the bill from us and was like you donāt have to pay food bill, you guys from Bengaluru , Chennai and Kerala are always like this- āshamelessā. I have other guests who are very nice and not like you guys. During the altercation she even swear words in Hindi (MC) to one female in our group.
It continued and she walked into our room and started screaming - ācheckout , checkout, checkout ā¦ā¦!ā , and guess what this was around 9pm in the night! (For who doesnāt know, 9pm is like mid night and it gets dark there by 5pm in evening. This place is in very remote area with bad roads) We were like shocked and thinking what is happening and what wrong did we do. Even the drivers of other group in between tried to communicate in local language and Hindi to resolve the issue but even they couldnāt control the tantrums of didi and left helpless! It hit our self respect and we decided to checkout! (In the bikes, with 2 ladies at 10pm from that place just to break didiās audacity that people would be helpless and have to stay there as there is no other option) when we were leaving, tying our bags to bikes, all of the family members (esp her father) surrounded us and started yelling continuously. He was probably drunk (not sure but even he was very hyper, was not in control) and was about to hit one of the ladies. Other person even snatched the bike key and started yelling āvehicle...

Approximately 45 feet deep, this hidden gem has a 1-kilometer route. It can be a little challenging because there are several caverns there. Still, Wari Chora is the perfect place to come because of the sound of the water, the waterfalls, the beautiful green forests, and the absolute tranquilly.
ā¢Boating
Although there are boating choices as well, most people choose river rafting.
Locations To See In Wari Chora-
There are waterfalls in the river, as was already noted. Witnessing these waterfalls is utterly weird.
There are two apparent falls called Re-nang Dare Falls and Chibok Dare, Bawe Durga in addition to the river's cascading falls. Both of these require trekking, so if you don't mind missing out on a breathtaking vista, go for it. Even though it's incredibly challenging to get to these waterfalls, they are stunning, crystal-clear falls that are a joy to the eyes. Agnima Wari Fish Sanctuary is another name for a fish sanctuary, but getting there is just as challenging. The best place to go to escape the oppressive heat in your city is Wari Chora, which is located...
