Yercaud Hill Station — Local services in Tamil Nadu

Yercaud is a quaint hill town in South India which is known for its production of spices, coffee, silk and other textiles. It also has several attractions including the Loop Road, Yercaud Lake and Kiliyur Waterfalls that attracts a number of tourists throughout the year.

Yercaud lake is a natural lake in the center of the town where there are boating facilities The beauty of the verdant hill station of Yercaud, situated in Tamil Nadu, is such that it is popularly referred to as 'Jewel of the South'. Nestled in the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats within the district of Salem, it lies at an approximate height of 4,970 ft above mean sea level.

October to June is the best time to visit Yercaud because the weather is dry and cool. However, Yercaud offers breathtaking views and a tranquil ambience throughout the year. During the month of May, a seven-day Summer Festival is conducted which includes flower shows, dog shows, boating races and village fairs.

Has been one of my favourite visits in 2022. If you live in Chennai or anywhere near tamilnadu or even if you visit and have two days spare time, get packed and go to yercaud. Why?

Budget friendly . Best view Amazing weather Perfect in budget place to make weekend plans. It won't take long to cover it all. It can easily be done in a day or two.

Rent a car or go to Redtaxi. ( It's there when you get down Salem junction or you can google it once you reach there.

Taxi cost - 1800-2000 for one day covering all places.

There's a waterfall going through a forest giving the feel of pine forest. Although you have to get down a lot of stairs but its fun.

All other points are amazing. The views while climbing a mountain are amazing.

Beautiful place in Salem. The drive from Salem to the Yercaud hills is awesome which consists of 20 hairpin bends, you get to experience beautiful view point on the way to the hills. Ensure to make the hotel booking before you go and make sure the hotel is near the Yercaud lake as that is the centre point of the city. Food: You will only find Non Veg Hotels and those are not great if you are looking for hygiene. If you are looking for weg option, you will hardly find some veg restaurants. The one you will find is Sarvana Bhavan which is of not great taste. The other one is Sri Venkateshwara which is better as compared to Sarvana Bhawan. Overall would rate 4 for the place...
