Total Area of park is 190 sq.km

It's a habitats for approximately 5-10 adult royal Bengal tigers. While Dominant male named as "Surya".

Attraction of park : Tiger (Count 5-10 Adult) Leopard (Count 11)

Probability of siting tigers are on lower side. Also observed very few antelope species.

Bird counts are also on lower side.

I coud spot only a few birds like Oriental honey buzzard, a lesser spotted eagle and a white eye buzzard.

We visited Umred Karhandla Gate today i.e. on 14th may 22 in the morning, they have increased the rates and changed the timings which is not updated online. For 6 people we had to pay 2050₹ for online booking, 425₹ for local guide in cash, 2500₹ for Gypsy which is a total of ₹5000 without any receipt except online booking + the traveling charges from our residence. Timings mentioned online is 6am to 10am we reached to the Gate at 6.40am, but the actual timings are 5.30am to 9.30am in which they take 30mins brake and took us out at 9.15am itself. Which means we paid 5000₹ for 2hours and not too many animals spotted, tigers not spotted to any of the visitors. We saw Owl, Peacock, Deers, Pigs, 9rang bird, white eye eagle, monkeys, kite, neel gaay, and few...

Waited in this area of #umredkarhandlawildlifesanctuary for the bigcat movement. Continuous alarm calls happened for almost 2 hours. Turned out there were tiger cubs in the bushes playing together. The grass was too big to spot them. Ended up seeing nothing. This is the beauty of a jungle; tiger that was hardly 50 to 100m away and yet was not visible.

Umred Karhandla is a beautiful forest no doubt about it. But the major con is it is either a tiger (or leopard) or nothing!
