Recently visited Amity University, Lucknow with my parents to collect my admit card during the summer vacation. Even though I had a valid student ID, we were stopped at the gate because our car didn’t have a parking pass. We had come from 700 km away, and naturally, the car we used was different from my usual vehicle with a pass.

At the entrance, the security guards were not only strict but also very rude and unprofessional in their behavior. They lacked basic manners in how they spoke to us, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Instead of guiding us properly, we were made to feel like we were doing something wrong just for visiting the campus for an important task.

Despite explaining our situation, we were not allowed to park inside even for 5-10 minutes to quickly collect the admit card. They told us to go outside, find a photocopy shop, take a copy of my ID, and only then would they allow us entry. This process was completely outdated, inconvenient, and unnecessary.

For a reputed institution that claims to be modern and student-friendly, this kind of outdated system is unacceptable. If Amity has such high-security concerns, then why not implement a digital parking system or at least a temporary visitor pass system using modern technology? Other universities have such basic systems in place — Amity should too.
