What an amazing store, from Sewa which has been empowering women since 1979. Had the opportunity to meet Runa Bannerjee, the founder and padma shri awardee. Even nominated for the Nobel peace prize!! Such a simple and well spoken person sharing some gems of her work with us. Bought several items. Well priced and no mass production. Good collection, hand stitched work, friendly staff, unique colors. Need to make more for plus sizes :-)

The only original SEWA among the hundreds of copycats. They have a huge rotating collection and the team is happy to help you choose the one that you want. Once you enter the building, you can see the artist busily building the design. The place , while has a shop inside the building where you can purchase different product, they also accept customized product on order.

Came across an Angarkha, bought probably early 1990's when SEWA held their exhibition in Delhi at Aga Khan Hall. I was amazed now by the exquisite workmanship, delicate patterns and such well finished work on the reverse side. 👏. I wish I could...
