A Trek to Remember, Journey Beyond Expectations: Himalaya Shelter
I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a trekking adventure facilitated by an exceptional team of trek operators - Himalaya Shelter. From the very beginning of our journey, their hospitality and professionalism shone through, making this an unforgettable experience. The trek operators welcomed us with open arms, immediately setting a warm and friendly tone for the trip. Their down-to-earth nature was evident in every interaction, making us feel like part of a close-knit community rather than just participants in a trek. They were always approachable, ready to share knowledge, and eager to learn about our own experiences and expectations. This genuine interest and open communication created a comfortable environment where everyone felt valued and understood.
One of the standout aspects of the trek was the operator's ability to create unforgettable moments. Whether it was guiding us through breathtaking landscapes, sharing local things about the village where we stay, they consistently went above and beyond to ensure that every moment was special. Their deep knowledge of the region and its hidden gems meant that we were treated to sights and experiences that were both unique and awe-inspiring. These moments were not just about the natural beauty we encountered but also about the connections we made and the joy of shared experiences.
The quality of the food provided during the trek was nothing short of remarkable. Despite the challenges of preparing meals in remote locations, the trek operators managed to serve delicious and nutritious dishes that catered to a variety of tastes and dietary requirements. Each meal was a delightful experience, with the flavours and variety reflecting the local cuisine and the operators commitment to our well-being. At 1AM on summit day, the effort they put into meal preparation was evident and greatly appreciated, as it provided the energy and morale boost needed for the demanding trek. Camping is an integral part of any trekking experience, and our trek was no exception. The operators selected picturesque and safe camping sites that offered stunning views and a sense of tranquility. The camps were well organised, with comfortable tents and necessary amenities, ensuring that we could rest and recharge after a day of trekking. Additionally, the nightly campfires were a highlight. They provided a cozy and communal space where we could relax, share stories, and enjoy the warmth of the fire under the starry skies. These campfire gatherings fostered a sense of camaraderie and were a perfect end to each day's adventure.
Perhaps the most commendable aspect of the trek operators was their ability to handle critical situations with utmost professionalism and care. During our descent in snowy conditions, a member of our group faced a life-threatening situation. The trek operators acted swiftly and decisively, using their expertise and training to ensure the individual's safety. Their quick thinking and calm demeanour in such a high-stress situation were truly life-saving. This incident highlighted not only their technical skills but also their deep commitment to the safety and well-being of every participant. Their actions in this moment of crisis were a testament to their dedication and the high standards they uphold.
Long story short, the trek operators provided an exceptional experience that was marked by their hospitality, down-to-earth nature, and ability to create memorable moments. The exquisite food, well organised camping, and nightly campfires added to the overall enjoyment of the trek. Most importantly, their life-saving actions during a critical moment underscored their professionalism and commitment to safety. This trek was not just a journey through stunning landscapes but also an experience of community, care, and unparalleled service. I am deeply grateful to Nithin, Rajendra and Birender for their efforts and would highly recommend their services to anyone seeking a truly remarkable...

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the amazing trekking experience I had with your team. From the moment I signed up for the trek to the final day, I felt well taken care of and supported by your team.
The level of professionalism, dedication, and expertise shown by your team was truly impressive. They were knowledgeable about the trekking trail, always ready to answer my questions, and provided a great level of support and encouragement throughout the journey.
I also appreciated the attention to detail, from the quality of the camping gear to the delicious meals served on the trek. It was clear that your team took great care in ensuring that the trek was enjoyable, safe, and memorable.
Special thanks to Kullu Bhai, Sandip Bhai who drive safely us to throughout the journey, at the initially we thought this will be our last drive but the moment they make us more comfortable with their smile faces we got the confidence and the travelling with laughing moments, whenever we say for small break they stopped the vehicle at the beautiful spot and tiredness vanished within them moment. . Having a reliable and trustworthy driver can make all the difference when it comes to feeling comfortable and confident during a long journey.
It's wonderful to hear that your trek leader Tripan bhai, Arjun bhai, Jaybhir Panwar bhai and Rajesh bhai were so caring and lovable during your trekking experience. Having a supportive and positive team of leaders can make all the difference when it comes to enjoying and succeeding on a trek.
It's also great to hear that we enjoyed spending time with your crew members and that you were able to laugh and make memories together. Trekking is not just about reaching the summit, but also about enjoying the journey and the people you meet along the way.
Arjun bhai played a particularly special role in your trekking experience, helping you to reach the Kedarkantha peak and even joining in our garba dance at the summit! Having a leader who is both skilled and fun-loving can make all the difference when it comes to feeling confident and achieving your goals.
Good food can be a real highlight of any trip, and it sounds like your trekking team did an excellent job of providing satisfying and tasty meals at every camp site. Having unlimited food can be especially helpful for those who love to eat, and it's great to hear that your team was able to accommodate this. Good nutrition is essential for staying energised and healthy during a trek, so it's great to hear that your team was able to provide ample and nutritious food.
Kullu Bhai and Sandip Bhai were able to guide you to the Rishikesh path and help you save money in the process. These small acts of kindness and helpfulness can make a big difference when it comes to creating a positive and memorable travel experience.

┬а┬а┬аRead moreThis is a feedback for my Kedarkantha trek. I booked this trip with Thrilliophilia. I'd say that I'm just too fortunate to have Himalayan Shelter as our trek operators. I signed up for 1st Dec to 6th Dec 2022. We were a group of 21 for this trek. Our guides were Rocky bhaiya (Satvir Rana) and Saurabh sir.
From the start, both the guides showed professionalism. We reached Sankri at around 5.30pm and we were welcomed with snacks and hot tea. After dinner around 7pm, we were given briefing, code of conduct, and all the information related to the Kedarkantha trek. This was given by Rocky bhaiya, Saurabh sir and Subodh sir. In those 30-40 mins of discussion, we knew that this is not a tour, it is a trek. Since this first overview, I knew that the guides are very experienced and I gained a sense of confidence and excitement for going forward.
The food served by the operator was super delicious. I travelled with someone not from India, and she didn't speak Hindi, and was not used to eating Indian spices. I mentioned this to Rocky bhaiya who also helped manage the food during the six days. He made sure that very minimal spices are used in the food, and I noticed that he would take extra care for her (for example, asking if she's comfortable with the food, the vibe, etc).
The rules of this trek were very clear, and we knew that we had to be very responsible of ourselves and equally for others involved. Saurabh sir would brief us about what we just did, where we are and the next steps. Everything was made very clear, so you're not trekking just randomly in the greens. He had answers for everything that you could possibly think of.
Since my friend didn't speak English, Saurabh sir gave extra attention to her. During the summit trek, he asked her to be the first person (right behind him) to trek forward, and then me, and then the other 19 people in a row. Since we all could speak Hindi, I believe it was relatively easier for us to coordinate. Saurabh sir made sure that my friend gets the right guidance during the hardest part of the whole trek (summit trek).
Rocky bhaiya and Saurabh sir were truly experts in their field. This was 96th time for Rocky bhaiya doing this trek, and Saurabh sir shared his elite-level experiences trekking in the Himalayas. Needless to say, you would always have something to learn with even a minute of conversation with these two. They never made you feel unsafe, and always helped throughout the trek.
The other people who joined for this trek were also very nice. We played many cricket matches on the basecamp, collected wood for small bonfires every night, and created lots of memories.
Kedarkantha during winter is beautiful. We started with the first trek in the wild, met many doggos and few goats (one of them now named Shweta). Starting with lush greens, you would eventually find snow by the time you reach the basecamp. There were many tea shops on the way, and as of 2022, Kedarkantha is definitely not as commercialised as other treks such as Triund. Also, because we went just before Christmas, the summit had very less people (around 100-120, which changes to 4000-5000 during Christmas/New Year dates).
Writing this feedback made me revisit the whole Kedarkantha experience. Thank you Rocky bhaiya, Saurabh sir, Himalayan Shelter!
Be well prepared with clothing, energy bars, etc., and connect with Himalayan Shelter. I am sure you will have an experience...
