My recent trek with Himalayan Hikers to the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib was an unforgettable adventure that surpassed all my expectations. The breathtaking landscapes, coupled with the exceptional service provided by the entire team, made this a truly special experience.

The trek began with a convenient pick-up from Rishikesh. Himalayan Hikers efficiently transported us to Govindghat, where we spent a comfortable night adjusting to the mountain air. The next day brought us to Ghangria, a charming village nestled amidst the Himalayas.

The highlight of the trek was undoubtedly the Valley of Flowers. True to its name, the valley was a vibrant tapestry of wildflowers in full bloom. The knowledgeable trek guides, David Bhai and Balli Bhai, added another dimension to the experience with their insights into the local flora and fauna. They shared captivating stories about the valley's history and folklore, making the trek both visually stunning and culturally enriching. Their enthusiasm for the Himalayas was truly infectious.

The trek culminated at Hemkund Sahib, a revered Sikh pilgrimage site nestled in the heart of the mountains. The serene atmosphere and the breathtaking views from the gurudwara left a lasting impression. The trek leaders ensured a smooth and respectful visit to the holy site, providing cultural context and facilitating a truly enriching experience.

Himalayan Hikers didn't just stop at the trek. On the same day we descended from Ghangria to Govindghat, they arranged for a visit to the holy town of Badrinath and the quaint village of Mana, the last inhabited place before the border with China. This additional excursion provided a deeper understanding of the region's cultural and religious significance.

The success of this trek wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of the entire Himalayan Hikers team. Special thanks go to the manager Suresh Nautiyal for his meticulous organization, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the journey. Superb Meals: The meals provided are wholesome and delicious, keeping trekkers energized throughout the journey.

Cons: Most tent zippers were faulty, causing inconvenience. At the Bekaltal campsite, tents were placed on ice despite ample ground being available, making the setup uncomfortable. The sleeping bags were smelly, with noticeable odors of sweat and pain relief sprays. The zipper of the toilet tent was torn, reducing its usability. The bus driver displayed unprofessional behavior: Drove rashly and engaged in a verbal fight for 15 minutes. Forgot to drop passengers at Prince Chowk, instead forcefully dropping them at ISBT. Argued when asked about the original drop-off point. Experiences involving Himalayan Hikers' direct management often don’t meet expectations, though the subcontracted staff like guides and cooks excel.

Final Recommendation: Despite a few logistical shortcomings, my experience with Himalayan Hikers was overwhelmingly positive. The trek was safe, well-organized, and full of enjoyment. Their team’s efforts to create a memorable trekking experience, along with the thoughtful services they provide, make them an excellent choice for Himalayan adventures.

This is Jigna from Gujarat, I am extremely happy to have done Kashmir Great Lakes Trek recently from 7-13 September, 2024 with excellent support of Team Himalayan Hikers. Our enthusiastic and very punctual Team leader Mr. Jogindersingh Rawat and our Local guide Mr. Hasan made our trail so safe and sound with their utmost guidance and support, I am so Thankful to them! I loved the warmups Jogiji made us do daily before the trek😀👍 I was hugely moved to see the porters team unwind with our tents every single morning and transport it before us and keep our tents ready at next campsite by afternoon, a big Thankyou to Mr. Salim and team🙏. It was a scary experience on third night with thunderstorm & snowfall at 13,000+ ft high in the tent, I felt the tent will just uproot and fly away but thank god it all subsided soon and at that early hour around 3.30 am the entire team was out to check upon the tents and reassure everyone was safe and sane🙏 At the high altitude and chilly weather while we wrap ourselves with jackets and mufflers all the time, I witnessed a marvellous job out there from the kitchen team of Himalayan Hikers with Mr. Raju as head chef and two other bhaiyaji making us yummylicious snacks and tea every morning with a packed lunch ka dabba for everyone. I should mention that I got my special coffee whenever I asked for as I don’t drink tea ☺️🙏 Also we were provided with a juice, biscuit pack or a chocolate to carry for the trek each day. After a tiresome long walk over the mountains when we reached campsites everyday we were served with evening snacks with tea and later with Hot soups. A special mention that we savoured panipuri, samosas and breadpakoras too out there! We looked forward for yummy dinner too with different dessert everyday like gulabjamuns, jalebis, Halwa, sonpapdi, sevaiya and last day surprise with a CAKE!😋 I think delicious food gave us more energy to climb those mountains and get back down daily😁 My heartfelt THANKYOU to each and every one from support team and team leaders to have made my trek doable and memorable. I am so grateful for all the friends I made along and this KGL trek will be a cherished memory forever!😇
