Parmarth Ashram — Local services in Uttarakhand

I did not stay here and used this as a location to go watch Ganga Aarthi. Haridwar is such a wonderful divine place and most of the local people are very polite, tourist friendly and helpful. When our auto lost way, one gentlemen stopped his scooter, explained to the driver in detail and even offered to come along with auto till main road junction and from there we could find our location. We thanked him and said ok, fine, we understood the way.

Having said that there are handful of bad elements and one has to be very very extremely careful with their belongings and kids. The Administration at the Ghat area where Aarthi is taking place or at the place one go for Ganga Snan repeated announcements are made to take care of belongings. It has become so monotonous and repetitive and over dose everyone don't take it seriously. The police and administrators need to do more than simply repeating the announcement in public address systems. They should use their intelligence net work and with the help of local volunteers should crack down these elements and put them in their place. When you focus on Aarthi, when you focus on Ganga Snan with little prayers, these few precious seconds are enough to pick your bags or purse or ornaments. They are so quick and well prepared within seconds they are gone wit your belongings and your entire holiday plans and pilgrimage trip is at jeopardy. When going for Snan let one person in the group guard your kids and bags etc. Take turns to go. During Aarthi let the focus be on Aarthi but keep an eye for the surrounding. The place is a true peace giver and calms a person's mind and provides enormous joy to the heart and soul. The Ashram has its Ghats and sits in the lap of river Ganga. It is close to the market and has clean surroundings, Bhojanalya is also present. That serves delicious langar. AC rooms are available and has the most clean,strong and beautifully built infrastructure. Prices are pretty fare and the place is a true value for money. Advance bookings are also avoidable. They have their own place for parking vehicle. Rooms are located on the ground as well as on higher levels.A person can get a completely refreshed mind by staying here. One should must bring his family and his friends and spend some time with Mother Nature and get detached from the rest of the world for a few days or weeks. AC and Cooler rooms are also available . This ashram is very good.it has very nice facilities like..,for bath they provide hot water,nice and simple food,etc. They have his own ganga ghat. And when you go ghat then you can see the very beautiful kitchen garden in way of ghat.it was Handled by ashram.and that is very beautiful and hygienic.
