Baranti Dam ,Muradi Muradi dam, presently known as Baranti dam ,a small tribal village named Baranti adjacent to dam has become a best tourist place in Purulia dist of West Bengal because of its immense natural beauty and some specialities.Govt, has adopted steps to adore the dam and it's surrounding through making hotels ,lodges , gardens , pathways , illumination s etc .The dam is created naturally from fllows of water of surrounded hills , instead of river and it's water is clear ,clean ,cool ,and good for digestion.Surrounded small hills most probably the range of panchokote hills has increased the beauty of the place manifolds And last but not least the village is peace loving and inhabitants are mostly co operative and helpful to tourist.A guest and tourist is regarded like God such belief still keeps on the mind of the people of Muradi.Walking through the bank of the dam surely will refresh your body and mind Route direction. Its a really nice place to visit for picnic, but not for staying. They place is still developing, there are no hotels or resorts surrounding the lake. Few hotel are under construction. For food, there are no shops around atleast for a 5km radius. I went on the 21st of January 2017 on my Maruti Suzuki Baleno via Madhukunda Station. The road around the station is really horrible. The road is full of craters, so try taking an SUV. But, yes, its just for about a km, then you pass through a cement plant, where the road is not as bad as around the station. After passing the cement plant, its a nice road passing through the agricultural land and then through baranti village. Once you reach the place, it a real joy. The only reason, I could not give a 4 star is because of the road reaching the place and the development that is yet...

Muradi / Baranti Lake is a small, quiet and scenic place in the vicinity of Ramchandrapur Irrigation Project, not very far from Garpanchkot. A 2 km long irrigation project dam, located between two small hillocks; Muradi Hill and Baranti Hill. The area is surrounded with splash green forest of mainly Sal, Tamal, Sonajhuri, Palas, a big natural lake and few elegant hills.
