It is two kilometres from the subdivisional town of Raghunathpur and four kilometres from Adra town. The hill is situated 2 kilometers south from Purulia β Barakar road via Nanduara village and 1 kilometer west from Raghunathpur-Adra Road via a growing township known as Annapurna pally.
The hill was popular only from the Satyajit Ray film, βHirak Rajar Desheβ that has some scenes shot here. Earlier, the place was not so popular and as a result, not so much transportation facilities are available to reach the hill from the railway station. At present, the station is well connected up to the Joychandi Pahar and the surrounding locality that one can reach here easily.The weather is pleasant here, although the day time of the summer is quite hot. The night is pleasant although. So, you can plan the trip any time of the year. However, the spring is the most favourable time as that would bring heavenly natural beauty here. To reach the top of hill one has to climb through stairs. Around 520 steps are there. At top there is Chandi Mata temple.
