Entry is strictly restricted. Now this ground houses the only helipad in Darjeeling area. Though there isn't much remaining to see now, remenants of viewers pavilion (on to the right hand side of the gate), the horse stables (far left corner) and probably the ticket counter (far end) can be seen from the main gate (photography is strictly not permitted. So you may encounter further disappointment). It's located on the spur originating from observatory Hill which houses the race course and ends at Rungeet river to the north east through Badamtam Tea Estate.
