Bandar Bentan Telani — Local services in Bintan Island

It's been many years since my last trip to the Bintan Ferry Terminal (Bandar Bentan Telani), via Bintan Resort Ferries from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore. We had a recent positive experience with them both ways last month. We opted to travel by Emerald Class especially with a young toddler and my father joining along, and it was worth it because we had a nice comfortable lounge we could use. There was ample space on the arrival leg, and just enough space on the return leg. Hot tea was available as well as very clean toilets. There is a nice shop here also. The Bintan Resort shop was closed on arrival 17 Dec 2024, but was opened before departure 20 Dec 2024. Not sure why this shop was not open on Tues. I compare prices of the items I purchased at Plaza Lagoi and this shop, for the same items even thou it is slightly more expensive, it is still worth getting it here than to spend $40 on taxi fare 2 way to and fro Plaza Lagoi. Only tea and cracker was available at the Emerald Lounge here. Staff told me to go economy class counter to ask how to get to my hotel. Never do that, stay in the lounge after collecting passport. HORRIBLE TERMINAL.

Hi BBT, please ensure your air conditioning is working. Putting hundreds of passengers through a terminal that doesn’t have sufficient air flow and is a sauna is neither safe nor reasonable, given that you charge every single passenger a terminal fee. I see little infants suffering and older people trying to stay cool and breathe properly.

Tips for families - try to get the Emerald Class ticket:. It’s a nightmare waiting in line just to clear immigration and then you have to wait in line again in a human sardines setting. Lots of screaming, sweating, and just plain killer to your holiday. See photo for yourself.
