Disclaimer: even though I’m European, I have lived/worked for almost 3 years in Indonesia and been in various islands in Sumatra, Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua, so I have a pretty fair knowledge of the Indonesian reality. That said, I have to say I was pretty disappointed with this island, when comparing the reality with the comments here. The island is mainly for transit to other islands, as it has no beaches of its own. Prices are expensive for what they have to offer, both in accommodation and food (even when buying in the small warung2). There’s nothing to do in the island, except negotiate the price to charter a boat and go visit other spots in the archipelago (like Pulau Air or Pulau Semak Daun). Pramuka island is the center of administration for kepulauan seribu goverment. So many goverment office here. One most popular place here is turtle conservation. And you even can trying to snorkeling around pramuka island. And some spot for diving. For beginer diver maybe pramuka island is quiet fine for diving. The magrove ecosytem is nice to. The goverment have more attention for magrove and for communities here.
