I need more stars to rate this island. Heaven on earth. God was so happy when He created the island :) You can fly direct here from Singapore, KL, Perth, Bali, Surabaya, Sumbawa, Bima, Makasar, Banjarmasin. You can sail from Bali, Surabaya, Sumbawa . You can choose one of the transports to suit your need, time and budget. In term of nature, you will get almost all things you need here. Including the people, culture and tradition. Name them: Rinjani mountain & its crater lake. Gilies. Waterfalls. Rivers. Thousand mosques. Waktu Telu. Maulidan.. to name a few.

Beautiful islets scater around the island (latest news said 380 something islets) if you are party people head to GT, you want more peace go to Nangu as a sample. Have you camped in an island where you and your friends are the only inhabitants there? In the full moon. I went to Gili Kondo, thinking I was visiting uncle Robinson Crusoe. What a fantastic memory!

Rinjani mountain the most beautiful and extreme to climb volcano in Indonesia. Have you heard of Rinjani 💯? If you are trail runners I am sure this is one of your dream trail. My fav going to rinjani is being lazy by the lake. Ah so super duper fantastic! The mountain occupy 1,3 of the island And it has made beautiful lanscape & villages around the valley. If it is too extreme to climb just staying at the valley is already therapeutic for city dwellers. And my favorite one is Sembalun. It has such adorable places. You can go hiking around the vegetable field & village. you can climb pergasingan hill. Or just sit relax to see sun rise in front of Rinjani Garden Hotel. Many people from Mataram who come there said we come to Sembalun to forget our missery, to forget our big debt for a little while.

Beach? We are surrounded by sea. We have Mandalika resort with beautiful white sandy beaches and turquise blue water. From the calm beaches in Sekotong to rough sea in the south.

Food? You can try so many kind of local delicacy. Sasak eats rice 3 times a day. Ayam taliwang, nasi puyung, nasi ebatan, pelecing kankung, sate ikan tanjung, sate rembige, lawar etc. Most people in Lombok love their food hot with chilli. Mind your tummy of you never have chilli in your life.

Waterfalls Lombok more than 150 waterfall from the one which is just few meters away to the tallest timbungan in Rinjani. My fav is Tiu Kelep, Benang Kelambu, Dewi Selendang.

Culture. For hundred years the tribes are separated from each other hence make the islamd has many tribes grow in their own culture means everywhere you go you may see something different. After wedding the newely weds parade on the street to bride's family.

Dont plan few days here. You will regret it. Come and...

Was not worth going. Yes it's less tourists, nice beaches and quiet areas for surfing but that's it. The taxi mafia on the island is massive issue, especially at the ports. The island is very dirty and rubbish plus plastic everywhere. Not only that, but bring your earplugs, they help a little bit for when praying happens 5 times a day where they blast it out on loud microphones at stupid hours like 5am. I got woken up often and had bad sleep throughout my trip.

They blast payers because it's very religious island, its banned by government but not enforced. So it carries on. It just doesn't happen in one spot, all over, almost every few hundred meters, I could hear several go off and feels like it last for 30mins... to average tourist it sounds like some evil cult chant, worse off is they're not all in sync, they go off at slightly different times, so it drags... plus not many hostels and homestays are very rustic and uncomfortable, lots of bugs and creatures in living and room areas as not all of them have proper walls for your rooms. Check the reviews carefully when booking and you'll see

Plus the food is not great, just same dishes everywhere and poorly cooked... that said if you can stomach these things then go. But I say it's still not worth it, bali has everything they have but 10 times better. Only go if you want to surf or do the komodo on the 3 nights and 2 day tour. Otherwise it's painfully dull and annoying, yes the praying really p*ssed me off

This is from a backpacker who's got a bigger budget than usually backpackers but still not good value there. Unless you're doing short holiday and can pay for nicer rooms then it could be a tad better for you but I suspect not much.

Final point, seems like lots of 5 star reviews from locals living in Lombok to give it more hype for tourism as it helps them to. I'm all for it, if it deserved it but these fake "its great" is sad and misleading, iit has a long way to go as their current traditional state is out of touch to morden western society and becomes...

Lovely island with lots of different terrains

Came here with no expectations how ever was impressed by the absolute beauty of the place. It had different attractions at different points.

Beautiful mountain in the north to beautiful beaches in the south . So beautiful and unique that some of them were the best I've seen in my life , especially pantai tomang omang.

Lots of lovely masjids , which are very beautiful and the best part was trustworthiness of the people here, it was so surprising to see the kindness and helpfulness of the people here. No one is out here to loot you or your money. People are genuine and I'm afraid that it has spoilt me cause I absolutely loved the behaviour of the people.

One if it's kind ,island.

Mind you the smaller places are not the best in facilities and food can be an issues , especially if you aren't used to it or if soy sauce dosebt suit you.

Over all the beautiful is breathtaking and stunning. Won't mind coming back here one day.
