for my fellow bules, mount sibuatan is so so beautiful. it looks so magical in real life, like fairies and gnomes live here. I found a guide by asking around, but if you want to you could do it alone, the trail is marked by ribbons on the trees, just keep your eyes open. the path itself was muddy, which was fun for me because it was like parkour. it took 8 hours to get up and 5 to get down. the night sky was the most beautiful I have seen so far, many stars and the milky way, also got lucky with a sunrise. I would recommend not to bring a trekking pole, on the way there are many trees and branches you can hold on to, I think that is way more efficient, especially if it has rained. and also to fully intergrate and rest I would recommend you stay 2 nights. If you like more quiet go during the weekday since a lot of locals come in the weekend. good luck...

It took 8 hours hiking from the base camp at Pancur Batu up to the camping ground at the Shelter 5, plus half an hour to reach the pillar. The route was quite challenging but the rich variety of floras along the way was more than enough to keep you focused on the journey and enjoy every single step. If I am allowed to summarise, it was a mountain combining the experience offered by Mount Pangrango, Lawu, and Kerinci. All in one...

Sibuatan is home. Treknya menantang, trek lumpur, hutan lumut. Bonus tanjakan dari pintu rimba sampai shelter 1 , trek paling lama shelter 3 ke 4 trek akar sama hutan pandan pokoknya nanjak terus. Penduduk sekitar kaki gunung sangat ramah.
