Worth a visit — but here’s why I gave it 2 stars.
Let me start by saying: this place is absolutely worth seeing. The architecture, sculptures, and museum are stunning — truly a visual experience. Plus, entry is free, which makes it even more appealing. I do recommend stopping by.
However, the reason for my 2-star rating is the showroom experience. When my husband and I arrived, we were welcomed into the sales area where jewelry and other items are on display for purchase. While we were politely accompanied by a sales associate (who wasn’t overly pushy in our case), I noticed others nearby being pressured to buy.
The prices were extremely high — significantly more than anything else I’ve seen in Bali. It felt like the cost of the building and presentation was baked into the price tags, rather than reflecting the true value of the pieces themselves.
Before visiting UC, I did some research on Bali silver and found that Celuk is the go-to village for authentic silversmiths. I visited several local workshops in Celuk where I could see the craftsmanship up close. The jewelry I found there was not only more beautiful and unique, but also a fraction of the cost.
Special mention to Sun Silver, Dewi Souvenir, and Semadi Gold and Silver — their service and artistry were outstanding. I highly encourage anyone interested in buying silver to visit a few independent workshops in Celuk first. Then, if you still want to visit UC, go for the architecture and cultural experience — not the shopping.

Read moreProbably the biggest & most famous Bali silver gold jewelries store & also phenomenal jewelry museum in Bali island among others. The museum building is situated in the front section, while the jewelry store & also the factory site next to the museum. The specialty of this place is the museum's collections which consisted by priceless specimens of semi precious stones & fossils from around the world in giant geode & rock form, eg: giant amethyst & citrine geodes, ammonite, rock crystals, etc. Also those are models of traditional Balinese art culture knick knacks in miniatures & replicas crafted from silver & gemstones displayed along with the gemstone specimens. But however the great point of interest in this museum is the modern huge art installation of nine giant dragon statues crafted from more than 1000lbs of pure silver metal. The inscription plaque on the wall described the artwork's specifications in detail. The jewelry store is huge as like as a department store with vast of various jewelry products fit for shopping & even wholesale buying. The price was seems affordable for small knick knacks made of silver. The factory site was also presented there adjacent to the jewelry store & there is also a bistro as additional facility provided by the company for...
Read moreWe really enjoyed this place. We asked our driver for somewhere that has silver jewellery and this is where he took us. Watching the artisans making the pieces was especially interesting. After we watched the manufacturing steps to make the final articles we went into the huge retail display area. I wouldn't say the jewellery was cheap, but it was top quality and many unique items. I spent far more than I expected although I had to troll through the offerings to find things that were made only of silver, I didn't want stones and definitely did not want sparkly things but there was a lot of that style on offer. The areas were separated by the stone/inserts with the odd plain silver work scattered through. I didn't go upstairs to the gold / fancy area but my daughter said it was amazing stuff. There was a very friendly staff member who follows you around with a woven tray to hold the things you are interested in. I am sure they serve a dual purpose to both assist and also ensure there is no theft because all the work is out loose for you to pick up and inspect. We loved it but really wanted to see some more traditional balinese work in silver as well. This would be on my list to return in...
