Pagoda Watugong — Local services in Semarang

This is basically a place for religious activities and rituals. Watugong shrine is also know as Buddhagaya Shrine, and the pagoda is one of two main buildings in the complex. Since the Pagoda Avalokiteshvara is the most iconic, people tend to overlook another building: Dhammasala Hall.

Erected to reach the height of 45 meters, the pagoda was the tallest in Indonesia where 5-meter Goddess Kwan Im statue was inside. At the front of the pagoda was a bodhi tree, with meditating buddha crosslegged below its big branches.

Dhammasala hall was a two-storey building down to the right from the pagoda. The lower part was a multipurpose meeting hall while the top one was a prayer hall with a buddha statue sat beautifully on an elevated platform.

Several additional buildings, including sleeping buddha statue next to the pagoda, were here and there around main buildings. Originally used to serve religious purposes, the compound was managed by Buddhagaya Foundation and open to wider visitors.

Pagoda in south Semarang Area, easy to reach and have very beautiful landscape and buildings too. This Pagoda is trending place for instagrammer cos its very very intagrammable, every corner of it. It open almost every day l, if you from airport you can take a city bus to Ungaran direction or just take a grab or uber is the easiest one.

if you happened have longer time in this area you can visit a restaurant near this which called Mang Engking. So hype and so happening with the local food tastes.

one last thing do not take a picture in Pagoda if there are people still praying, please respect them and know our place as a tourist overall this place is a prayer room right....

Sebetulnya sudah pernah kemari waktu ada kunjungan masa sekolah, namun ternyata cukup tertarik untuk sekedar mampir

Sesuai dengan review sebelumnya, masuk ke sini tidak perlu membayar tiket masuk. Hanya butuh bayar parkir itupun seikhlasnya.

Experience kedua saat masuk ke tempat ini setelah sekian lama sudah pasti nostalgic. Kebetulan kemari pada saat weekdays jadi sangat sepi dan bisa dibilang hanya saya sendiri. Saya menjelajah dan menemukan beberapa spot yang cukup menarik mata. Disini saya merasa tenang dan damai. Tempat disini cukup teduh dan bersih walaupun saya datang di siang hari. Cocok untuk bengong menikmati angin, selain itu karena berada di semarang bagian atas, sudah pasti bisa melihat pemandangan kota.

Disini tersedia minuman yang bisa dibilang seperti kantin kejujuran? Sudah tertera harga dan uang bisa di masukan ke dalam kotak sesuai dengan item yang akan dibeli dan cash only

Orang-orang disini sangat ramah, saya cukup tenang ketika disambut hangat walaupun niat kemari untuk melihat saja dan saya juga bukan umat yang ingin berdoa.

Untuk sekedar mampir dan berkeliling disini saya rekomendasikan namun tetap sesuai dengan aturan yang ada ya, karena Pagoda ini merupakan tempat beribadah, jadi tetap untuk menghargai setiap tempat dan...
