Sun Te Kong Temple — Local services in Tanjung Pinang

Sun Te Kong Temple is located not far from Sengarang Harbor. This temple, which is around 300 years old, is the oldest temple in Senggarang. The establishment and existence of this temple is almost the same time as the Sengarang market.

This place is quite easy to find, and located near the sea. The parking lot is really spacious. The place is a vihara that faces the sea. In the garden area at the front there are plenty of statues from chinese’s god and at the back there are few grand statues of Buddha. Memasuki area Klenteng Sun Te Kong sekilas membawa ingatan pada suasana ke Negeri Tirai Bambu. Memasuki komplek setelah melewati gerbang dengan gaya China yang khas, beberapa bangunan dengan berwarna merah juga menambah kekhasan kawasan ini.

Di bagian depan, terdapat tiga bangunan yang dipergunakan untuk sembahyang. Dari kanan ke kiri bangunan-bangunan tersebut berjejer dari yang berukuran besar hingga kecil.

Di belakang ketika bangunan tersebut, terdapat sebuah bukit kecil yang di atasnya juga terdapat bangunan untuk sembahyang.

Kawasan ini tidak hanya berisi bangunan untuk bersembahyang, akan tetapi juga diisi dengan beberapa patung. Di bawah bukit terdapat sebuah patung naga, di bangian bukit, tepatnya di atas patung naga terdapat patung dari tokoh film Sun Go Kong, atau kera sakti.

Tidak hanya itu, dua buah patung dewa dengan ukuran besar juga berdiri kokoh, menyeruak di antara besar dan ridangnya pepohonan.
