I’m quite disappointed by this really important and historical sight.. it’s again- like always 25.000 for foreigners entrance fee. For that it’s really not well maintained, there’s a lot of trash laying around. Almost no information at all, for this price at least there should be an information paper, an App, an audio guide or even a guide in person. Many parts of it were closed for renovation.

Read moreThe archaeological site of Babylon is a must see for anyone visiting Iraq. You can reach it by taxi from the garage in Al-Hillah for 5000 IQD. When arriving at the entry of the site, I was allowed to leave my big backpack in the Ishtar gate (🤭 there is an office / storage room in the gate). Unfortunately, much of the old ruins of the ancient city are covered in mire recent constructions and are hence not excavated which was a little disappointing to me.
