Also known as Slieve League or The Ardara Distillery. Their signature whiskey is Silkie. The distillery is also known as The Ardara Distillery. We've done so many distillery tours that we just asked for a tasting experience. They charged 15 euros per person and gave a very generous tasting of whiskey and gin with a detailed description of each. We did like some of their products, but not all of them. My favorite is the original Silkie. It's lightly smoky. The newer versions are more heavily smoked if you prefer something more like scotch. The gins were very interesting with one being made with hand foraged seaweed by one of the owners. We have been able to find Silkie in the U.S., but they will ship to you if you want.    Read moreWe visited Sliabh Liag Distillers as a group of 8, mixture if adults and children during the summer of 2025. Visitors consisted of locals, New Zealanders and Canadians. From the moment of preparing the visit to the visit we were made feel extremely welcome. The tour itself was extremely informative and interactive and all questions were answered, our guide was very professional and had a great sense of humour which added to the tour. The taste testing was a superior experience. Sliabh Liag Distillers truly extended the Donegal welcome and experience to our tour around the county that day. I would 100 % recommend this experience to your tour of our beautiful county..you will not be disappointed. Go raibh mĂle mhaith agaibh Sliabh...

Especially the Santa Ana! Thanks to Alan for the marvelous tasting experience and the generous pours. The distillery is a nice workable size without the masses of tourists that the big name places get. This was so much better. Alan even provided bubblewrap to get our bottles home safely in our luggage. We shared a tasting with a couple from British Columbia who were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Congrats again! I didn't want to spoil their moment by telling them my wife and I were...
