Initially we drove past the visitors centre up to the upper car park, it was full; we could have waited for a parking bay to come free but we realised that we would have to walk from there as the bus to the viewing point only goes from the visitors centre.

We drove back to the Visitors Centre and took the bus to the viewing point, it leaves every 20 minutes and was only €11 for one adult and one OAP. The car park at the VC is free, the other is pay and display.

It was only a short 8 minute drive to the viewing point; there were a lot of people that walk from the car parks up to the viewing point.

Due to mobility issues we just stayed around the area/ viewing platform where the bus stopped, the views were fantastic but we wouldn’t have been able to climb up the path which goes further up the mountain which is a shame as I bet the views would have been stunning.

Well worth the drive, absolutely stunning and even though there are a lot of people around it’s quite peaceful.

Definitely a spot to take family and friends...

Make no mistake - those Cliffs are a spectacular sight. But unfortunately, it is no secret any more, so there are many, many people. And gnats and mosquitoes, at least on a wind still day. And they are numerous and nasty. For getting there, you have two options: either you drive through a gated entrance to the parking lot directly next to the Viewpoint, or you park your car at the parking lot right next to the gate and walk the rest of the way. Which will take about half an hour for the roughly two Kilometers, because there are some fairly steep stretches on that street. When you reached the Viewpoint, there are a few street vendors. Look for the one in the tiny cart who sells lobster rolls. He fishes his lobsters himself every day, so you will get a very fresh, very authentic bite to eat. But beware, he usually is only there for a couple of hours, until he runs...

Parked at the bottom of the drive. Clean toilets available at this carpark. The walk up is easy to moderate and takes about ten to fifteen minutes. You can drive this if you wish but you will miss out on the beautiful views on the way up. At the top there are a couple of food carts with coffee, ice cream hotdogs and on the right day, lobster rolls! The view is unparalleled and there are plenty of seats and benches to rest on. If you are particularly brave (and have proper hiking gear) you can walk on up the cliffs and across one man's pass which is a single file pass across a narrow ridge with unbelievable views on either side. Not for the faint of heart but brilliant for thrill seekers short on the time it takes to hike up Pilgrims Path to get to the same...
