Teelin Pier — Local services in County Donegal

We departed Teelin Pier for a boat trip along the Sliabh Liag cliffs. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day with calm seas. The round trip lasted 2 hours and was made all the more interesting by our Captain Kevin, who is a local fisherman and tourist guide. His stories about the people, landscape and history of the surrounding area really gave an insight into the lives and history of the local area. A fabulous trip with Paddy in his boat and Kevin in ours. We started and finished with a pod of dolphins hunting in the Bay - several surfaced close to the boats. Then out to sea and the spectacular colours and strata of the cliffs. The sea was kind and the sun shone in a clear blue sky - we were lucky with the weather. Can be a busy spot but definitely worth a visit anytime of the year. In summer there are boats trips out around Slieve League but you are advised to book first. There is a quality fast food vendor there and also porta loos that support disabled.
