Watch out for adult parties if you have kids! My son spent two nights here as a part of a scout group and I was appalled to hear his accounts and those of other scouts . First of all they were not informed that there was no hot running water and so they were advised to by staff to have a cold shower after their jumped in the lake and a bog hole! The place generally looked a bit shabby when I came to pick my son up but the most concerning thing is that there was a raucous party going on all night one night while children as young as nine years of age were camping for a scout weekend. Most of the scouts were unable to sleep with the noise until the early hours and more worryingly regularly encountered the drunk revelers in the bathrooms because these were being shared by the partygoers inside what appears to have been the private House of the owners. Were these party goes garda vetted? They also left open booze containers in the bathrooms for the children to see and were noticed by many of the young scouts in the morning hungover and bleary-eyed wandering around in the early hours. For a facility that helps young people satisfy the criteria for a Gaisce award , and for a facility that invites scout groups who are teaching young people to be virtuous, exposing them to this debauchery was unforgivable. I do not know if it happens regularly but based on the reviews it looks like they are open to stag and hen parties - I can only hope and pray they do not allow these on the same nights that they allow families or scout groups to attend. I am frankly disgusted with what I've heard from several scouts now about their experience at Liliput adventure center mid September 2022. PLEASE RESPOND LIliput. Perhaps start with an apology to the scout group in Questions and offer of a refund for having...
Read moreI went to lilliput as part of a hen weekend with a group of 17. We had previously booked baysports in athlone who had let us down 24hrs before we were due to arrive. The staff in lilliput were more than accommodating. Our guide for the day- Paul, ensured a fun time was had by all. Always asking if we were okay and enjoying ourselves. The bog hopping was the last activity we done and for a group of ladies was probably the most enjoyable. It took us out of our comfort zones.,coming out covered head to toe in muck. Paul was always encouraging us to go on and laughing with us along the way..we had very hot showers to wash away the muck and changed into our dry clothes. We were then greeted with a roaring fire and packets of chocolate biscuits. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning activities. I would highly encourage anyone to use this adventure centre without a moments...
Read moreThe place is incredible.. The facilities are perfectly acceptable. As part of Hen doo we had a blast with Rachel instructing and being a vibrant and informative representative of the organisation.
Without doubt.. Rachel is a jewel and massively of value to Lilliput.
The one negative we must point out was Bear, the doggy. We all Loved the doggy and the doggy clearly loved Rachel and people in general..
However, the animals eyes were in a dreadful state, as was his fur. We all were very moved by the eyes.. And it really dampened the affair out of concern for him.
If we may politely request the doggys eyes to be attended to as this will put people off.. And fixing the eyes is...
