This is the best fish and chips I had in my life. The fish is SUPER fresh, the batter is crispy and dry and the chips are cut to order and fried to perfection, food wise this place is an absolute banger and should be on anyone’s radar when going through West Cork, it’s super reasonably priced too! I am giving this place 2 stars only because the opening times are unreliable. Many times myself and my partner went to roscaberry solely to get fish and chips at this chipper only to find it closed (I also see many others driving through the gas station to get themselves something to eat only to turn around I’m disappointment because it is closed, mind you this is on a Wednesday or Thursday at 5ish pm. They don’t update their Google opening times, don’t pick up the landline when you call or even leave an automatic voice mail letting you know if it’s open or not, you literally have to go there and be lucky that’s open… My only recommendation is to update your opening hours on Google so people know the normal business hours and be up to date on opening times, have a voice mail, app or website that people can rely on. Sometimes I want to order in advance to skip the queue (which can be up to one hour sometimes) but I can’t get anyone to...

This place is absoultely fantastic. Every time we were in West Cork this was our spot for lunch/dinner. We even went for a few times from Cork just to have their fish and chips and/or burger for a lunch. Fish and Chips are far the best we ever ate in Ireland. Burgers are even better. You wont find this kind of burgers anywhere in Ireland. Trust me. We tried xy burger places all over the country. Price is so cheap, and quaility is unreal. I could even say that burgers are better than fish and chips but this comes from a burger lover. Fish burger is brilliant. You can really taste the fish. Bun is so soft. They dont save on sauces so you will have really juicy burger. Everything is so fresh - meat, fish, salad. They have terrace that is open during nice weather but you can also take the food and enjoy it on the near beach. You wouldnt expect to have the best food in the place beside gas station, but trust me it is worth...

Hands down the best takeaway in West Cork! And be prepared to be FED!!! Portions are generous to say the least! Do yourselves a favour and take a trip down/up/over! The food is only something else. There's no skipping on quality here. Fresh local beef burgers, locally caught fish/scampi, local cheeses and relishes! If you want a taste of West Cork produce, Rosscarbery fish and chips is the business! Huge gluten free range too so there's no missing out.
