Kurûn Hattîn is believed to be the site of the Battle of Hattin, Saladin's victory over the Crusaders in 1187. The Battle of Hattin was fought in summer when the grass was tinder-dry.

האתר מרשים בעיקר הנוף ממנו לכיוון הארבל והכנרת. ניתן לטייל באתר בשבילים מסומנים. ישנם הסברים במקום. לחלק מהמקומות המסומנים כשביל הגישה לא קלה. ניכר שהאתר איננו מטופח, אך בהחלט שווה ביקור. הגישה אליו קלה. ממנו המשכנו לארבל בדרך התאימה לרכבי שטח 4x4 עם ירידות מאתגרות.

הגעתי לאזור בפעם הראשונה במסגרת מרוץ שעשיתי בשטח. עם כל המאמץ והזיעה בריצה המאתגרת, לא יכולתי שלא להתפעל מיופיו של האזור-- שילוב של גבעות טרשים נמוכות וביניהן שדות מעובדים, כשברקע מתנשאים מצוקי הבזלת של הר קרני חיטין והכחול של מי הכנרת מציץ מעבר להם... פשוט סביבה טבעית ושקטה שנעים לטייל בה, לנשום ולהתמלא מראות של טבע. חבל שלא יכולתי...
