Il monte del precipizio, situato vicino alla città di Nazareth, è un luogo di grande interesse storico e religioso. Da tale monte si gode una splendida vista sulla valle sottostante. E'stato luogo di importanti scoperte archeologiche che hanno rivelato la presenza di resti umani ed animali di età antica, quindi pregno di storie, aspetti, peculiarità della storia umana. Io ritengo che l'interesse principale verso il monte scaturisca dai racconti del Vangelo. La "cecità" umana, soprattutto per chi ci è più vicino, è mostruosamente grande! Gesù in età avanzata, rientrò a Nazareth e come Suo ormai consolidato comportamento nei luoghi che visitava, tenne un discorso in sinagoga. Le Sue parole non piacquero ai concittadini che vedevano in Lui soltanto il figlio di Giuseppe e di Maria, apprendista del mestiere del padre e dunque un umile falegname-carpentiere. La rabbia della moltitudine che lo ascoltava fu tale che spinse i più facinorosi a trasportarlo sul monte del precipizio per scaraventarLo di sotto e quindi offrirgli una morte certa e disonorevole. Come ci fa soffrire questo atteggiamento folle... Poi, miracolosamente, Gesù che sapeva che non era giunta la sua ora, riuscì a divincolarsi dalla folla e "straordinariamente", uscirne incolume e quasi inosservato.... Tante altre storie sono relative a leggende, tradizioni, storia. Ma ometterò per non sbiadire il ricordo sofferto di quanto accaduto a nostro Signore in...

The view of Nazareth from here is incredible! Nazareth is far hillier & a rockier terrain than I'd originally thought and it's obvious from here. You can see the Church of the Annunciation and other key landmarks at this spot.

Also, the history of Jesus disappearing through the crowd at this location is very interesting...now, seeing how high...
