Museo del Mare — Local services in Brancaleone

The museum, located next to the Town Hall in Brancaleone, is a hidden gem that deserves everyone's attention.

The free admission is a pleasant surprise, but I strongly recommend considering a small donation to support this precious institution. The volunteer who guided the tour was exceptional, leading us through the thematic rooms with passion and informative insights.

The first room, dedicated to scale models of local craftsman's boats, provides a fascinating glimpse into the area's craftsmanship. The second room sensitively addresses the issue of plastic in the seas, serving as an educational and enlightening section. The final room was a true delight, focusing on sea turtles, the true protagonists of the Ionian coasts and a protected species classified as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

I highly recommend a visit to the Museum of the Sea in Brancaleone to anyone interested in maritime culture, environmental awareness, and the captivating world of sea turtles. An educational and inspiring experience that deserves...
