Per raggiungere la cittadina alta bisogna farsi una bella scarpinata a piedi perché l ascensore risulta rotto, fuori uso da diverso tempo !! Perché non volete nessuno??!! Arrivati in cima ci incamminiamo per la visita e con grande sorpresa constatiamo che pur essendo ben tenuta è praticamente abbandonata Eravamo a settembre, con qualche turista straniero che come noi si incamminava incredulo.. case chiuse, assenza di qualunque tipo di locale , né un bar , né un negozio di qualunque servizio Un unico “ristorante” con tavoli all’aperto deserto .. Insomma una gran tristezza per un paese che sembra essere stato abbandonato di corsa da tutti e da tutto Forse le amministrazioni locali potrebbero intervenire per dare un po’ di linfa e...

Visited Colle di Val d'Elsa for the great Friday market (if that's your thing) and then took the free lift up to the old town.....well worth a visit. Or you can use the free car parks on the SR68 Volterra to visit...
