Read moreFor my anniversary, I chose to gift my partner with a treat in this super cute reataurant/mountain heaven.||First: the location is amazing, especially during winter, in a "mountain anphitheater location".|||| Access:|| There is no private car access, so you can either decide to walk, (30-40 slow walking + taking pictures, on a very easy, non-dangerous road a quarter of which is paved, the rest is unpaved, but wide and well kept.||- In Winter you can either walk, or get a ride on the snow cat, or on the horse and slide( call/look on the website to see what option suits you better, and are available)||-in summer: i'd highly suggest you walk your way up.||||||-Staying overnight||We stayed one night at the "Rifugio" , we probably had the biggest room in the place:||1 large double bed, a quaint hand crafted bunk bed, and other two beds in the same swite, it wasn't cramped at all and had a large en-suite marble batroom just for us two.||||- It's not a shack, all the linnens and the towels are provided like if you were in a good level hotel.||||||Food: During the day you can either choose between a more refined, still with local flair but cooked and prepared in a more refined and sophisticated way restaurant (usually inside), and the "backpackers kitchen style food" (paninis, sandwiches, grilled cheese, sosage and mushrooms, "affettato" plates etc.) with all those more simple and tratitional food. ||At night usually there is only the restaurant available, and you want to make sure u make your reservation.... Nevertheless, you'll get full just staring at the magnificent view. The walk to this place was an easy hike. We went with a pram for pete's sakes, so its just a no sweat hike, i can do it over and over again.||The staff of the rifugio were very accommodating. He could've specified that the "back" he was referring to was his back, not the back of the restaurant. Anyway, he was just staring at me while it was obvious that i couldn't find this toilet. Ish!||Good thing the view healed me right after i was out of the rifugio. The air was so fresh it was intoxicating. I will be coming...
