When we were planning our trip to Italy (Tuscany and Abruzzo) I was considering bringing my bike for the trip. Calculating the additional cost with the number of days that I would have a chance to ride (changing weather and somewhat unfavorable forecast were a factor), I started to consider renting. While it is really easy to find a bicycle rental in Tuscany and in Italy in general, with plenty of national and local holidays it proved a little more challenging - to a point that I gave up on rental during the first part of our trip in Tuscany.

While traveling south to Abruzzo I came across Sport Service in L’Aquila which was perfectly on our way to Tagliacozzo (40min away). Eddy was really a pleasure to deal with. Very responsive and accommodating. We worked out all the details via text, and a brand new bike was waiting for me at the shop, with pedals and a helmet.

Thanks to Sport Service I had a chance to ride a part of the course of 2025 Giro stage 7.

We booked a tour for 8 to discover the Gran Sasso by e-MTB via Eddy from Sport Service. It was FANTASTIC! Eddy is a very professional instructor who is concerned about the safety of the group, providing you with adequate tips for MTB riding and of course showing you the most beautiful spots of the national park. After a good initiation it was time to hit the tracks, the trails were great and the adrenaline was pumping on the downhill singletracks. The scenery is just magical! This was definitely the highlight of our vacation in Abruzzo and we would 100% recommend!...

We recently borrowed bikes to explore the gorgeous Abruzzo region, and the entire experience was just fantastic. Besides the natural beauty of the mountains and landscapes, the service from Sport Service was top-notch. They delivered the bikes right to where we were staying, and they were always super responsive on WhatsApp whenever we needed anything while we were out and about. They even gave us great tips on where to go in L’Aquila and really went above and beyond just renting out bikes. Overall, absolutely top...

If you’re looking for a bike tour amidst beautiful valleys and ancient ruins, this is the place you should go for. Eddy the owner not only provides you with e-bikes worth thousands of dollars, but can tailor your tour according to your wishes and cycling levels. My 9 year-old and I joined one of his tours and had the best experience ever!! He really provides high added value for money for his full-service tours and I’m sure you’ll have a great time exploring the beautiful landscapes of L’Aquila and her neighborhood.
