Where does one begin such horrific experience?|| ||I stood at this villa with friends/family for my friend’s wedding in June. The villa was beautiful nothing the less, however the owners of the property need a long detailed class on hospitality etiquette. Actually, jail for kidnapping if I must say…||The night before the wedding, a guest accidentally broke a wine glass on the grass near the pool area, which we took fully responsibility for. The next morning, the day of the wedding, host barged into the brides’ room screaming, demanding payment of $5,000 USD as now he would need to drain the pool to ensure no glass got inside, we completely understood but asked if we can please handle the next day as we did have 3 more nights ahead of our stay and clearly had bigger fish to fry(wedding). This man completely lost it and started shouting if he didn’t receive payment at that very moment, he would SHOW UP to the WEDDING & RUIN IT... Brides had to call the wedding planner, explain what was happening and luckily he was able to get in contact with this man and guarantee him that payment would be received the next morning once festivities were over. HE AGREED to this but still decided to call the police the following morning before even speaking with anyone first. Once officers arrived, they agreed his pricing was Ridiculous and all parties agreed to a $2,000 USD payment instead, he however, as soon as they left kept changing his mind about how much money he actually wanted transferred to his account. Due to this, we asked him to please write a contract stating what all parties, including officials had agreed upon. He said it would not be ready until 9pm that evening, at the time it was about 4pm in the afternoon. As it was our last night in Italy (with a full day ahead the next morning), we decided to go out to town for dinner, big mistake…. Shortly after dinner was over, half of our party headed back to the villa as they had early flights while the other half, decided to stay back and continue exploring town as we had much later flights the following evening. As soon as the other guests arrived to the house, we received a call that the host had LOCKED ALL GATES/DOORS and was not allowing anyone to go in or out of the villa unless payment was given to him cash at that very moment. Keep in mind, this is the country side and there isn’t a single bank or ATM machine available at this time.. Inside of the house there were elderly parents, grandparents, and young children who had stayed behind while the younger crowd went out, they were TERRIFIED/CRYING. Children were separated from their parents without a way in or out. Everyone standing outside of this house, in pure darkness with no light in sight, everyone used their phone’s flashlight to be able to see a little. Once the rest of our party arrived back at the house, he finally came out and we realized he was BLASTED/DRUNK, could barely speak or walk, screaming for his money in cash. As we literally FEAR FOR OUR LIVES, we called the police and explained what was happening. As they had officers at the property literally a few hours before, they already knew what the deal was, they showed up about 40 – 50 mins later. It is now 2am…. During this time, him AND HIS WIFE were standing by their personal home, screaming cuss words ‘to the stupid Americans’ while also THREATENING to kill us all. We became terrified; survival instincts kicked in and a few of us decided to hop the gate to get in the house and grab our passports before he got the opportunity to think of anything malicious to do... Never in a million years would I had imagined to be CLIMBING A FENCE IN SILK TO PROTECT MY LIFE IN ITALY, I WAS SO FRIGHTENED... Once the police came, he opened the gates and asked us all to leave, by the time we all finished packing, it was 330am. Elderly people and children woken from their sleep, abruptly as he wanted us out as soon as possible, he was screaming so loud and so angry, we feared for our lives with NO WHERE TO GO. It is such a small town, there were no hotels open or available at this time. Brides, parents, grandparents, children and friends – we all had to SLEEP IN OUR CARS OUTSIDE. Some guest didn’t even rent cars and had to manage to squeeze themselves in other vehicles. Words truly cannot explain the events that transpired that night, I truly thought I was in a horror film. Wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy … PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS VILLA. IT IS NOT SAFE.|| ||Karma is big, but god is bigger and this VERY UNHAPPY/BITTER couple will feel the rafts of it all.||||attached photos of him threatening us and the police holding him back as videos...

Davide and Marina started off friendly and nice until one of our guests accidentally broke a glass by the pool. They ruined my wedding day over a broken glass. As i understand this is a very serious situation, it was obviously an accident. They wanted us to pay for the damages, which was draining and refilling the pool, and we were willing to of course but also wanted us to pay for the reservations after us that they had to “cancel.”
As an agriturismo in Italy, you should have insurance to cover accidents like this and not expect your GUESTS to pay for them. They wanted to charge us an unreasonable price of almost €6000. When we asked for itemized recipes he only provided us with a hand written paper with a bunch of numbers. He started getting aggressive, rude, and cursing saying that we need to pay for this and harassed us all morning, mind you this is THE DAY of my wedding and i’m in tears all morning. You can see in the video how he was acting.
The day after the wedding, our guests who did the damage were willing to pay for the incident but they weren’t going to pay for the canceled reservations. My wedding planner had to negotiate a price which we came to an agreement of €2500 euros. We asked Davide to send us a contract that we were all in agreement with prior to paying. We didn’t have cash and were going to send the money through wire transfer.
That night, ready to go have dinner in Arezzo with maybe half of the guests who were staying at the villa, when we returned we came to find the gates locked. Half of us inside and half of us outside. Davide said he wasn’t going to open the gate until we had €2000 cash, mind you it’s around midnight at this point and no contract agreement in sight nor an ATM within reasonable distance. We had the villa reserved for one more night and had to check out in the morning.
This behavior was honestly something i never thought i would experience especially from a business. We had to call the police because we could not get in. Once Davide saw the police lights he came to unlock the door and make it look like it was unlocked this whole time. My dad who was on the inside of the villa confronted Davide and said he reeked of alcohol and said that he was drunk. Davide was acting very irate, yelling and cursing even in front of the police. They could clearly see that he was the problem. ALL 35 of my guests had to pack their bags at 2am and leave the villa with literally no where to go.
I would recommend you reading this review and any future guests to not even look twice in the direction of this agriturismo unless you want to be on the same property as two psychopaths. They will probably comment under this review and try to plead their case but just know they are extremely unprofessional. The apartments are outdated and not even...
