We are going to let you into a little secret. There is a very special place that exists on the edge of a very special hillside village only a short drive North of Rome yet close to the coast. ||If you are looking for old fashioned charm, character and an insight into what La Dolce Vita truly means then look no further than Case Cordovani. Such a simple and pleasurable life still exists in a world that seems to have almost stood still since time began. ||Yes your delightful hosts Chiara and Luigi have wi-fi and some other useful 21st century amenities including a spotless swimming pool! BUT the pace of life here is as any local will tell you - Perfecto. Just outside Magliano this working farm and hotel will delight anyone looking for the truly authentic Tuscany of yesteryear. More importantly for foodies like ourselves those in the know will tell you Magliano hosts a number of very special restaurants. Excellent as they are we are not sure any of them surpass the delights produced from Cordovani's kitchen.||Most of the produce is sourced from the farm itself and my if Chiara's touch, both as a baker and chef producing some sublime cakes, deserts and pasta dishes, is not that of an angel then we don't know what is.||We have travelled throughout Italy and enjoyed many memorable meals but the authenticity, simplicity and utter charm of Casa Cordovani leaves us speechless. This highlight of this picturesque family-run agriturismo is the 4 course dinner - the full 4 courses of authentique, beautiful Italian fare. The room rate includes B&B, and then guests opt to either eat at Case Cordovani or locally. We did 4 nights in, and 3 nights at other local places - the best food was at Case Cordovani. Maria Pia and family are very welcoming, and the pool is loverly, with views across fields to Magliano in Tuscana.There are pleasant rooms at the former farm, which stills rears ducks, chicken, greese, sheep, as well as gowing fruit and vegtablese.||The area is quieter then many parts of Tuscany, which makes it very attractive. Questa amena country house si trova vicino il piccolo borgo di Magliano in Toscana in posizione strategica per raggiungere sia il mare (Argentario, Talamone e Alberese) che Saturnia e il versante maremmano dell’Amiata. Titolari molto gentili e pazienti (per la pioggia ci siamo infangati e abbiamo creato un problema allo scarico della doccia). La pulizia degli appartamenti (molto ampio con due ambienti e due bagni) è stata più che accettabile. L’unico appunto che mi permetto di fare è sulla mobilia della camera da letto un po’ troppo “datata”. Abbiamo cenato entrambe le sere presso il ristorante della struttura (bellissima la possibilità di cenare all’aperto) trovando la cucina di qualità molto elevata. Ci hanno molto soddisfatto soprattutto i primi e la carne. Da ricordare la faraona e la tagliata. Unico appunto che mi permetto di fare è sui dolci e spero che non venga recepito come una critica ma come uno stimolo a fare ancora meglio. Troppo dolci e con scarsa personalità rispetto al resto. Questi poi essendo presenti anche a colazione ne inficiano anche in questo caso un po’ il giudizio.
