Tuscan Chef Little Kitchen — Local services in Montalcino

In June 22 I took a cooking glass with the Tuscan Chef. It was combined with a truffle hunting excursion before the class. I had a great time, both truffle hunting and cooking. The truffle hunting was much more educational than I was expecting so I happily learned a lot about the industry in Tuscany. Our truffle hunter came from a family of truffle hunters who have passed the vocation down over generations… and we found truffles thanks to him and his truffle dog🙂.

I joined a group of six couples from Brazil and a newlywed couple from San Francisco for the cooking class, which was led by Pablo, at the Tuscan Chef Little Kitchen in Montisi. The group was REALLY fun and Pablo made sure we had a good time cooking, plenty of yummy Prosecco, and a delicious meal - my best meal Italy! We made Tagliolini with Truffle, Truffle Eggs, and Tiramisu… I thought I didn’t like Tiramisu but loved what we made! This experience was a highlight of my month travelling around Italy and I would highly recommend it.

My only word of caution would be that the truffle hunting excursion involved quite a descent from Montisi, thus a climb back up to the town for the cooking class. So, if the walk up would be difficult for you, that might not be a good option. However, you could just take the cooking class and still have...

Tuscan Chef does it All!

Our family of 19 enjoyed a lovely Classic Italian 4-course meal prepared by his chefs at our villa where we stayed in Tuscany. The food was amazing and beautifully served and presented. It was complimented by wines from their collection that were superb!

We also enjoyed a fun pasta making class at our villa, which is a must if you find yourself in Tuscany. The fresh tomato sauce and cacio pepe sauce were so fresh and flavorful. Giancarlo was very entertaining and a master at what he does! The family was able to enjoy this beautiful meal with a lovely bruschetta and dessert prepared by Giancarlo and Maverick. And of course more wine from their collection.

In addition, we had a wonderful meal dropped off of lasagne, chicken with white wine, salad and tiramisu for our first night at the villa so we didn’t have to prepare a meal ourselves after our long flight. It's a great way to begin the Italian cuisine experience!

Six friends shared a dream villa outside Cortona recently. Yet, to a person we all agreed that the highlight of the week was our Tuscan Chef experience.

Alessandro was very thoughtful and professional about our questions before and during the week. We elected to hire private chefs from Tuscan Chef five evenings and, following mediocre experiences with other private chef companies, asked for multiple chefs to de-risk our dependence on the quality of any one particular chef.

What resulted was five absolutely wonderful evenings with two remarkable chefs, Nicola and Giancarlo. Both gentlemen are highly talented chefs but, also importantly, nice people. We got to know them a bit and really enjoyed that part of the experience.

We enjoyed being surprised at dinner with the menu and each night was varied and delicious (and presumably coordinated as no dish was repeated by either chef)!
