If you like walking on steep rocky hills this place is for you! This natural beauty can be divided in 3 main parts.

The first part it is located at the side of the road. It consists on a very beautiful picnic area where you can find wood tables and benches, fireplaces (I would strongly suggest to bring sasizza [trad: local sausage] to enjoy it with friends) and fountains.

The second part can be reached by following the path up to a hill. This place is easily reachable by children and families. The view is fascinating: in front of you you can see the the coast: if the sky is clear, on the left you can see Oliveri (and the famous church and the strip of sand below the cliff) and Tindari; on your right the gulf of Milazzo; in the middle of the sea you can notice the Eolie islands. Look around you and you notice the big cliff of Rocca Salvatesta. This is the place you are heading to.

The third part is not suited for children or families. I would suggest to wear hiking boots and a heavy jacket since it can be very windy (during winter). To reach the rocky summit you can notice a path along the close hill. At the base of the rocky summit you can notice dots made by a red paint on the sides of some rocks: this is the path you should follow to reach the peak. At the top you would enjoy the view. La strada che porta da Francavilla a Novara di Sicilia è splendida ....tutta immersa nella natura , ai bordi tanto verde .....fine ad oltre passare sella Mandrazzi e arrivare a Rocca Novara unica pecca è la condizione del manto stradale tra smottamenti e frane ...la strada e chiusa al transito quindi rischiosa da intraprendere , molti passavano, comunque un arteria di quella e da sistemare , arrivati a Rocca Novara , si respira subito una gradevole aria , il sentiero di semplice entità, fin su ai piedi della rocca , che da lì con un po' di attenzione e seguendo il percorso tracciato con dei punti rossi sulle rocce , si scala , sin ad arrivare in cima , da lì uno scenario immenso e difficile di ciò che vedranno i vostri occhi , il vento che soffia .....un bellissimo e suggestivo angolo ...di Paradiso visto...

Montagna dalla cima rocciosa che sovrasta uno dei borghi piu' belli in Italia, Novara di Sicilia (ME), ideale per passeggiate immersi nella natura, respirando aria pura, ci sono diverse escursioni organizzate anche da associazioni della Provincia di Messina. Bel posto sia nel periodo invernale con la neve, che nel periodo estivo, dalla cima si gode di ottimo panorama sul mar Tirreno con Milazzo, Tindari, Isole Eolie. Guardando sul lato del mar Ionio, si puo' vedere lo Stretto di Messina e il monte Dinnammare.
