Prestreljenik is the second highest summit in the Kanin group. It is named after a large round hole in it's western end, as "prestreljen" in Slovenian means "shot-through". See "Prestreljeniško okno". The mountain and the summit itself are almost barren rock. A small radio and weather station is on the summit as well as a stone pillar that marks the border between Slovenia and Italy. The altitude of the summit is 2499 m.a.s.l.
