Agriturismo Montegualdone — Local services in Sarezzano

We stayed here in June 2014 as an overnight stop on our way to Nice in France. Not a hard place to find, In the middle of nowhere which suited us fine. I guess you have no choice but to eat and drink here on an evening but that is all fine as the home made wine and fantastic food was just the ticket. All at a very reasonable price too to say they have you over a barrel. They have huge dog called Miro? He kept beckoning us to follow him, I dont know why but we did, He took us through some lovely countryside and showed us all his favourite places he likes to hang out, He was like a tour guide, I'm not into dogs really but this big fella was such a lovely softie, He had so much personality and made our stay so much more special, Shame he couldn't speak English :-) The place was wonderful and I would recommend it to anybody. We were due breakfast but had to leave early so can not comment on this, But I'm sure it would have been bang on as they have high standards. Ein Menue für Alle - bäuerliche Hausmannskost als Event

Am letzten Abend unserer diesjährigen Piemont-Reise wollten wir noch einmal ein Abendessen auf einem Bauernhof erleben. Diese meist an den Wochenenden stattfindenden Veranstaltungen, zu denen man sich vorher anmelden muß, sind in Italien sehr beliebt. Man fährt mit der Familie oder mit Freunden hinaus aufs Land und genießt mehrgängige Menues zum Festpreis - eine Speisenkarte gibt es nicht. Dieses bäuerliche Überraschungsmenue besteht hauptsächlich aus saisonalen, selbst produzierten Lebensmitteln, die einfach und traditionell zubereitet werden: Cucina Casereccia - italienische Hausmannskost. Der Ferienhof Montegualdone befindet sich in direkter Nachbarschaft zu unserer Unterkunft Orizzonti Vigneti Repetto. Das historische Bauernhaus liegt sehr schön mit einem sensationellen Ausblick auf Sarezzano und die Colli Tortonesi. Es verfügt über Gästezimmer, einen sehr schönen Outdoor-Pool und eine überdachte Event-Terrasse mit Garten, wo auch die Abendessen stattfinden. Das Menue beginnt gegen 20.00h und dann wird Gang für Gang an den langen Tafeln und Tischen (für Einzelreservierungen) serviert. Als Starter werden hausgemachte Salami, Käse und Lardo gereicht. Es folgen Zucchini-Törtchen, Pasta-Variationen und ein üppiger Fleischgang mit Beilagen - es gab an diesem Abend zart gebratenes Roastbeef mit Rucola und frittierten Kartoffelnwürfeln. Am Ende des lebhaften und genußvollen Abends gab es dann Tiramisu und ein Sorbet. Es war der spektakuläre Abschluß unserer Piemont-Genußreise, der nochmal zusammenfaßt, was diese Region so besonders macht: Die wunderbare, fruchtbare Landschaft, die Ruhe in der Natur, die hervorragende Küche aus heimischen Erzeugnissen traditionell zubereitet, die wunderbaren Weine und last not least: Die italienische Lebensart und Freude am Genuß. This was a first stop on our way from Milan Malpensa to Florence. What a find! Marisio, Renata and her husband were the perfect hosts and cooks. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable. The charm of this seventh century Agiturismo with all of the modern amenities was just about perfect. But the biggest surprise of all was the dinner. It was a great representation of authentic Piemontese cuisine. Four appetizers, two entrees, potatoes, desert, wine, water and grappa for only 30 euro per person! We highly recommend this place.
